Bachelor’s or MBA degree in Engineering, Operations or related field completed.- 8+ years of experience of direct management, comprising both a salaried workforce, hourly and agency workforce, in a logistics, manufacturing, engineering, production or distribution environment- 5+ years of experience with planning, performance metrics, process improvement, and lean techniques- 5+ years of experience with the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions, and terminations- Flexibility to work a variety of hours as business demands, including overnight, weekends and holidays- English and Spanish Fluency- 5+ years of experience managing third party resources on a regional/national scale- 5+ years of experience managing workforce in a business with peak season- 5+ years of experience driving improvement, innovating new processes and driving out waste.Job summaryJob summaryAbout AmazonAt Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. Our goal is simple: to offer the world’s greatest selection of products and services with the world’s best customer experience.We are seeking an Operations Manager to lead one of our Delivery Stations.Your responsibilities:- Managing day-to-day relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs)- Driving operational goals and metrics for your Delivery Station. Communicating the vision to your team- Presenting operational metrics regularly to the senior leadership team- Problem-solves for closing gaps between performance and goals- Hires and develops top talent. Creates and implements a talent plan for the site including talent acquisition, performance and career management, learning and development, succession planning, and employee engagement- Works with key business partners such as Transport & Sortation, DSP Management, Finance, Loss Prevention, IT, HR, ACES and Engineering- Six Sigma knowledge or similar Certification- MBA highly desirable- More than 10 years of leadership and people management experience.- Strong analytical capability; track record of digging into data and finding solutions for a variety of operational problems- Strong, self-driven leader with demonstrated ability to proactively drive, manage and grow an operations team.- Strong project management and people management skills.- Strong business sense and ability to create, communicate and achieve a vision.
