Backend Software Engineer – Technical Lead (GCP / RoR / Python) We’re looking for a senior backend engineer to lead the architecture, development, and scaling of our core platform. This role combines hands‑on coding with technical leadership. You will define the backend roadmap, ensure operational excellence, and mentor a distributed engineering team across LATAM and India. Required Qualifications 7+ years of experience in Software Engineering, including 2+ years in a Senior/Lead role. Expert knowledge of Ruby on Rails and Python in large‑scale production systems. Strong experience with PostgreSQL (schema design, performance tuning, scaling). Advanced use of Redis for caching, queues, and performance optimization. Proven experience architecting and operating systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). Strong understanding of containerization (Docker/Podman) and modern deployment practices. Proficiency with Linux environments and command‑line tools. Strong experience using GitHub for version control and code reviews. Preferred Qualifications Experience leading or mentoring distributed teams (LATAM/India preferred). Familiarity with microservices architecture. Understanding of CI/CD and DevOps practices (Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Key Responsibilities Own the backend technical roadmap and ensure scalable, reliable, and cost‑efficient solutions. Design and implement backend services and APIs with a focus on performance and security. Lead the use of GCP, containerization, and Linux for deployment and operations. Serve as the main escalation point for complex architectural and production issues. Contribute hands‑on code in Ruby on Rails and Python when needed. Set and enforce coding standards, best practices, testing approaches, and Git workflows. Oversee PostgreSQL and Redis usage for data integrity, caching, sessions, and async processing. Work closely with the Automation Engineer to maintain CI/CD and testing pipelines.
