We are driven by a common purpose to make a positive impact for each other, our communities, and the environment.**JOB SUMMARY**The Purchasing Manager is responsible for materials flow and control from supplier to the plant operation, develop and implement strategies to continuously improve purchasing operation, ensures that materials supply equal demand, and optimize total cost of materials.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**- Lead and develop a team to manage purchasing process aimed to source, procure and acquire materials needed on time at the point of use and with the lowest cost possible.- Establish clear measurable goals and objectives which determine individual and team results, driving the team to continuously improve and achieve organizational KPI's.- Provides support and maintain close communication with Workcell Managers to ensure individual and team contribution according to targets established by the operation.- Responsible of vendor management relationship, escalate to SRM and customer constraints and/or material interruptions to prevent operation downtime.- Manage process to comply with Jabil global policies, legal and quality procedural requirements. Establish controls to ensure purchasing process is followed according to procedures and rules established such quoting, bidding, Purchase Orders, contracts.- Support the development of Jabil Supply Chain strategies and systems. Support interaction with customers and suppliers to obtain feedback and ensure Operation's Materials Department's collaboration with Jabil SCM, other Jabil Operations, suppliers, and customers to develop supply chain solution that improves Jabil's performance and service levels.- Maintain a disciplined process to ensure materials availability to support production activities per the Master Production Schedule without creating materials liability for Jabil.- Disconnects between materials supply and requirements such as shortages, non-conformance, high stocks, and excess/obsolete materials are continuously monitored and eliminated.- Drive down overall cost of materials including component pricing, freight expenses, administration expenses, materials liability, and high stock.- Monitor, track, and provide feedback on suppliers' performance on overall cost, delivery, and quality.- Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems- Responsible that subordinates follow Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition.- Responsible for ensuring personal and Company compliance with all Federal, State, local and Company regulations, policies, and procedures- Performs other duties assigned as needed**JOB QUALIFICATIONS****KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS**- Bilingual English/Spanish- Excellent communication skills (written & verbal) with all levels of the organization- Business and operational negotiation.- Contract negotiation- Self-Driven worker.- Analytical & strategic problem-solving.- Project management- Decision-making**EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS**- Bachelor's degree in logistics, business administration, operations or related field.- 6+ years of experience in purchasing roles, including 3+ years proven management capabilities (preferably in supply chain area) with significant budgetary impact.- APICS or CPM certifications preferred.**Jabil, including its subsidiaries, is an equal opportunity employer and considers qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identify, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
