YOUR TASKS Test Strategy & Planning Coordinate test planning activities across all test levels, with a focus on aligning and integrating test strategies (including SW unit test). Oversee and coordinate further test activities for all test levels (excluding SW unit test). Lead overall test planning activities during the acquisition phase of projects. Evaluate and review test equipment planning from Test Managers of different test levels. Develop and document comprehensive approaches and decisions in the Master Test Plan. Plan, coordinate, and control all test-related work using prescribed methods and systems (including Time to Market/Product Creation Process); instruct and guide team members in their tasks. Execution & Supervision Execute and supervise functionality and durability tests. Oversee DV/PV (Design Validation/Production Validation) test validations. Generate detailed reports and work instructions for all testing activities. Administer and manage all project test activities and related documentation. Administer and manage testing equipment, ensuring availability and calibration. Quality, Communication & Reporting Hold QCT (Quality, Cost, Timing) responsibility for the testing domain (all test levels except SW unit test, including functional and environmental tests) and represent this in the project core team. Communicate the overall test strategy to the customer and act as the main point of contact for test-related topics. Escalate issues and conflicts as needed, ensuring timely resolution and alignment with project goals. Document and communicate the overall experience and outcomes of test execution in the Master Test Report. Process Improvement & Compliance Ensure compliance with defined technical standards and best practices in test engineering. Drive optimization of existing testing technologies and methods; implement and apply new technologies in collaboration with internal and external partners, specialist bodies, and workgroups. Coordinate service providers and external partners, considering economic, qualitative, and scheduling aspects. Participate in risk assessment during the tendering stage, highlighting critical qualification requirements and deriving alternatives. Support the preparation of offers and estimation of testing scope for new projects. Contribute to planning and determining test strategies; manage testing capacity and resources at the appropriate test laboratories. Technical Leadership Develop complex test concepts and oversee the construction of test setups, models, and test circuits for components, assemblies, devices, and systems. Specify, test, and release applications and customer-specific components. Arrange for and prepare necessary test documentation. Support the resolution of customer complaints and production difficulties in collaboration with quality assurance, assembly, and laboratory teams. Advise other specialist departments regarding functional test systems. Support the creation of Design-FMEAs and qualification concepts to improve and guarantee product qualification measures. Ensure compliance with industrial safety and environmental protection measures related to testing activities. Carry out additional tasks related to the position, including evaluating suggestions for improvement. Reporting Line The Senior Test Laboratory Engineer reports to the Lead System Engineer. Your Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field. Several years of experience in testing, validation, or project management within automotive or power electronics domains. Deep knowledge of Automotive Environmental Test, System Test, and SW Test is required. Proven experience in planning, coordinating, and executing complex testing projects. Strong knowledge of quality management systems, testing standards, and validation processes. Experience with Design-FMEA, risk assessment, and test strategy development. Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are a plus. Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross‑functional teams and external partners.
