The DCM team designs, builds and maintains software systems that manage and automate the component price and Device cost related processes. Its north star is to provide a best-in-class cost management system that helps Amazon build high quality products in cost efficient way for the customerKey job responsibilitiesThe Software Development Manager who will lead a team of software engineers in building innovative solutions for Amazon. As a Software Development Manager, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in the design, development, test, and deployment of our software and services.A day in the lifeThe Role: As a software development manager, your responsibilities include:- Mentor and develop your team of engineers- Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering team within an Agile/Scrum environment- Collaborate with multiple business stakeholder, engineering and design teams to coordinate, prioritize and deliver to an ambitious roadmapBASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 7+ years of engineering experience- 3+ years of engineering team management experience- Experience partnering with product or program management teams- Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems- Bachelor's degree- Knowledge of engineering practices and patterns for the full software/hardware/networks development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, certification, and livesite operations- Experience designing or architecting new and existing systems- Experience partnering with product or program management teamsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- 10+ years of experience developing software- 5+ years of experience managing people- Experience building complex software systems that have been successfully delivered to customers- Experience taking complex projects from initial concept through final launch.- Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests and recommend alternative technical and business approaches- Excellent verbal and written communication skills- Experience working with supply chain and/or manufacturing operations systems- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
