The role demands a well-rounded skill set that combines technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and a strong focus on operational excellence**Responsibilities**:Operations Management:- Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the Bar Mill, Tube Mill, and Wire Mill to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.- Coordinate with various departments including production, maintenance, quality control, and logistics to achieve production targets and maintain product quality.Production Planning:- Develop and implement production plans and schedules to optimize output while meeting customer demands and quality standards.- Monitor production progress and adjust plans as needed to address any issues or bottlenecks.Quality Control:- Establish and enforce quality control measures to ensure that the produced steel products meet industry standards and customer specifications.- Implement quality assurance procedures and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality.Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and legal requirements within the plant.- Implement and promote a culture of safety awareness and best practices among all employees.Maintenance and Reliability:- Collaborate with the maintenance department to ensure timely maintenance and repair of equipment, minimizing downtime and optimizing production efficiency.- Implement preventive maintenance programs to extend the life of machinery and equipment.Budget and Cost Management:- Develop and manage budgets for the plant's operations, including expenditures for equipment, maintenance, labor, and other resources.- Monitor expenses and identify opportunities for cost reduction while maintaining operational excellence.Team Leadership:- Lead and manage a diverse team of employees, including supervisors, engineers, technicians, and operators.- Foster a positive work environment, encourage employee growth, and address any performance or personnel issues.Continuous Improvement:- Identify areas for process improvement and operational efficiency enhancements.- Implement lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to optimize production processes and reduce waste.**Desired Profile**:- Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Engineering. An advanced degree or relevant certifications can be beneficial.- Experience: Significant experience in steel manufacturing operations and good knowledge ofSMS, AOD including hands-on experience in bar mills, tube mills, and wire mills. Previous experience in a managerial or leadership role is essential.- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of steel manufacturing processes, equipment, and technologies. Familiarity with industry standards, safety protocols, and environmental regulations is crucial.- Leadership and Communication Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential to effectively manage teams, collaborate with various departments, and communicate with stakeholders.- Problem-Solving: The ability to analyze complex situations, identify root causes of issues, and implement effective solutions is critical in maintaining efficient operations.- Strategic Thinking: Plant Heads need to develop and execute long-term strategies to achieve production targets, improve operational efficiency, and stay competitive in the industry.- Business Acumen: Understanding of budget management, cost control, and financial performance to ensure the plant's profitability and sustainability.- Change Management: The steel industry is evolving, and the ability to adapt to technological advancements and industry trends is crucial for sustained success.**Compensation**:Around INR 2.50 - 3.00 Lacs pm + Food + Accommodation + Car + All Expat Benefits
