FORVIA HELLA is seeking a motivated Software Engineer to contribute to the development of embedded software for Memory Seat Modules (MSM). This role supports global OEM programs and works closely with cross‑functional teams to deliver high‑quality automotive software. Position Overview As a Software Engineer for Memory Seat Modules, you will participate in the design, implementation, integration, and testing of embedded software features such as seat positioning, memory profiles, heating, ventilation, and supervised movement control. You will collaborate with senior technical leaders, system engineers, and hardware teams to ensure robust and reliable software that meets automotive standards including AUTOSAR, ASPICE, and Functional Safety. YOUR TASKS Embedded Software Development Develop and maintain real‑time embedded software in C for 16/32‑bit microcontrollers. Implement features for seat control, e.g., memory positions, movement supervision, heating/venting functions, diagnostics, and communication services. Contribute to model‑based development using MATLAB/Simulink and model‑integration workflows. Support root cause analysis and debugging for embedded systems during development, integration, and validation phases. Software Architecture, AUTOSAR & Integration Configure and integrate AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) modules (communication, diagnostics, memory stack, etc.). Adapt, validate, and troubleshoot RTE interactions to ensure correct integration with application software. Assist in software architecture refinement in collaboration with senior engineers and software architects. Participate in software design reviews, coding standard compliance, and static/dynamic analysis activities. Requirements Engineering & Validation Analyze system and customer requirements, translating them into clear software specifications. Execute unit tests, integration tests, and interface validation for AUTOSAR and application components. Support functional safety‑related activities under guidance from senior technical leaders. Cross‑Functional Collaboration Work closely with hardware, systems and test engineering teams to ensure seamless module integration. Participate in issue resolution during product testing (HIL, bench, and vehicle level). Provide engineering support for OEM technical discussions when required. Continuous Improvement Contribute to improving development workflows and tools following ASPICE, AGILE methodologies, and CI/CD practices. Support automation activities through scripting (Python or CAPL desirable). Your Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field. Experience 3+ years of experience in embedded software development, preferably in the automotive domain. Hands‑on experience with: C programming for embedded systems AUTOSAR tools (e.g., Vector DaVinci Configurator/Developer) Automotive communication tools (CANoe, CANalyzer) Real‑time embedded systems and microcontroller platforms Experience working with version control systems (Git/GitLab) and CI/CD pipelines. Familiarity with: Functional safety concepts ASPICE‑aligned development processes Software debugging tools and test equipment Preferred Qualifications Experience in seat control systems, body electronics, or comfort modules. Basic scripting skills in Python or CAPL for automation and test support. Soft Skills Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail. Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross‑functional, global teams. Structured and proactive working style with a focus on quality and continuous improvement. Fluent in English.
