Here are important abilities to consider:1. Technical Expertise: Understanding of manufacturing processes, and engineering principles. This includes knowledge of product design, quality control, and lean manufacturing techniques.2. Project Management Skills: Proficiency in planning, scheduling, and managing projects using tools like Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar software. Familiarity with methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid project management approaches is also necessary .3. Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: The ability to assess complex problems and develop innovative, cost-effective solutions. This includes root cause analysis (RCA) and process improvement strategies.4. Risk Management: Competency in identifying risks in a manufacturing or engineering context.5. Budgeting and Cost Control: Skills in managing project budgets, controlling costs, and ensuring a positive return on investment (ROI).6. Team Leadership and Collaboration: The ability to lead teams, delegate responsibilities, and foster collaboration among team members.7.
