The Regional Business Head is accountable for management of complex / critical / large professional disciplinary areas. Leads and directs a team of professionals. Requires a comprehensive understanding of multiple areas within a function and how they interact in order to achieve the objectives of the function. Applies in-depth understanding of the business impact of technical contributions. Generally accountable for delivery of a full range of services to one or more businesses / geographic regions. Excellent communication skills required in order to negotiate internally, often at a senior level. Some external communication may be necessary. Accountable for the end results of an area. Exercises control over resources, policy formulation and planning. Primarily affects a sub-function. Involved in short Planning to medium-term planning of actions and resources for own area. Full management responsibility of a team or multiple teams, including management of people, budget and planning, to include performance evaluation, compensation, hiring, disciplinary actions and terminations and budget approval. Responsibilities The Strategy Senior Manager will report to the Strategy Group Manager and play a key role in developing initiatives and projects throughout the region. In working with the Regional Head of Strategy and the Senior Management Team, help identify and develop regional projects that could materially improve the effectiveness and performance of the business. With team members, develop processes for providing ad hoc information on strategic initiatives, required by management. Engage and influence several teams involved in projects that lead to commercial excellence. Develop recommendations to advise Citi's senior management on high-priority initiatives, including growth strategy, product and segment strategies, and cross business initiatives. Qualifications 10+ years strategic experience preferred. Ideally experience working in multiple countries. Deep knowledge of the middle market commercial banking space and with the leading drivers of commercial excellence. Fundamental understanding of the drivers of value and the financial statements in a commercial bank. Outstanding problem structuring and analytic capabilities; ability to take a complex problem and organize it in discrete pieces for solution. Ability to size and prioritize large-scale initiatives across businesses. Significant experience working effectively with senior and middle level managers and with large interdisciplinary teams. Education Bachelor's / University degree, Master's degree preferred This job description provides a high-level review of the types of work performed.
