Together, let’s create the extraordinaryJob SummaryTo support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Product Engineering Manager located in Guadalajara, North CampusReporting to the Director, Operations the Product Engineering Manager role involves receiving, analyzing, cleaning, and customizing all technical information/documentation from the customer related to his product, derived from a New Product Introduction (NPI) or a design change in order to establish all necessary processes to manufacture it by maintaining its design and performance integrity.What a typical day looks like:- Handle product transfer and new product set up.- Participates with other senior managers in establishing corporate strategic plans and objectives.- Interacts regularly with executives, customers and outside regulatory agencies.- Drives engineering strategies to deliver customer requirements and recommend Flex capabilities in manufacturing and engineering services.- Support production by assessing product engineering issues of diverse scope that arise on production line.- Suggest improvements to process to obtain improved quality and production yield.- Solve product related problems and perform failure analysis related to product issues.- Interact with customer and various departments on product related issues - engineering changes, new model development.- Work with design team to resolve design related issues.- Suggest modification to work instructions, material or product changes to ensure superior quality of products.- Customer´s Bill of Material (BOM) analysis and structure definition for production.- Functional Product Documentation review.- Safety Requirements and regulations compliance identification.- Engineering Drawings Interpretation of individual parts and assemblies.- Request customer for drawing corrections, additions, clarification, measurements methods.- Lead Engineering Changes Implementation.- Conduct Design for Manufacturing (DFM), tolerance analysis, Design of Experiment (DOE), form-fit-function to determine failure root/cause analysis and reporting to customer.- Provide support to supply chain to integrate parts derived from the vertical integration or localization effort.- Provide product training to the manufacturing/process engineers for better understanding of the product.- Request, handle and administrate golden samples, engineering samples of final product and/or piece parts.- Establish, operate and maintain a standard method for technical information interchange with the customer to control and preserve information of NPI transferred projects.- Analysis of customer product parts and assemblies through model files using Computer-aided Design (CAD) system.- Analyze and determine course of action of Product Change Notification (PCN) and Manufacturing Change Order (MCO).- Ability to take additional responsibilities of the Manufacturing Engineer depending on the size and complexity of the customer product.The experience we’re looking to add to our team:- BA/BS/MBA or equivalent work experience.- Fluent English oral and written.- Previous experience with SMT.- Previous engineering experience, including supervision.- Demonstrates advanced functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.- Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and industry.- Demonstrates expert knowledge of the function and a thorough understanding of Flex and related business.- Demonstrates knowledge of multiple functional technologies/processes, industries or functions and understanding of interdependencies of such processes at the site.- Must have a good knowledge of employment law and company practices, with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.- Demonstrates expert functional, technical and people and/or process management skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.- Demonstrates detailed expertise in very complex functional/technical area or broad breadth of knowledge in multiple areas; understands the strategic impact of the function across sites.- Typically requires ability to present information to top management.- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.- Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.- Ability to write speec
