To meet our ambitious goals,we are growing rapidly.This highly impactful and highly visible Quality Engineer role will be focused onexecuting quality improvements across the Contract Manufacturer factory, specificallythe Freewire line. They will work closely with Quality Engineering (independent ofOperations team) to solve complex quality problems and ensure the success of qualityindependently, possess a strong sense of urgency combined with good interpersonaland communication skills.**Responsibilities**:- Support the development, verification and manufacture of products usingAdvanced Production Quality Planning (APQP) and Continuous Improvement.- Perform design review activities including inspectability, consistency, adequacy,accuracy, and conformance to requirements and provide recommendations forimprovement.- Develop and manage data and metrics using data visualization tools to reportand provide information with recommendations for product/processimprovements and reduce cost of poor quality.- Perform product quality and quality management system reviews to assurecompliance with drawings, work instructions and internal ISO9001/AS9100 andregulatory requirements.- Analyze product and process failures to ensure effective root cause analysis andimplementation of corrective and preventive actions internally- Understand risk and risk management as an essential part of the qualityengineering work scope.- Quality Management System development and implementation.- Represent Quality on the Material Review Board (MRB) and Engineering ChangeActions.- Internal audits - audit types, planning, preparation, execution, reporting resultsand follow-up.- Responsible for participating in continual improvement activities to enhance thequality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.- Interface with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production ofnew products are in accordance with approved data.- Works under general direction. Independently determines and developsapproach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy inmeeting objectives.- Development and presentation of quality reports for management review,corrective action and continuous improvement activities- Frequent inter-organizational and outside company contacts.Qualifications:- Bachelor's Degree in the Engineering field (Industrial, Manufacturing, Electrical orMechanical related field preferred) or greater.- Minimum 2 years minimum in electrical/electronics engineering or manufacturing.- Strong interpersonal and communication skills including writing skills, both inEnglish and Spanish.- EV product and process control - planning processes, material control,acceptance sampling and measurement systems.- A fundamental understanding of quality philosophies, principles, systems,methods, tools, ISO9001 standards, organizational and team dynamics,customer expectations and satisfaction, supplier relations and performance,leadership, training, interpersonal relationships, improvement systems andprofessional ethics.- Quality Management - tracking, analyzing, reporting and problem solving.- Thorough understanding of problem-solving (corrective action) and qualityimprovement tools and techniques (eg: six sigma, lean). This includes knowledgeof management and planning tools, quality tools, preventive and correctiveactions, and how to overcome barriers to quality improvements.- Understanding of controls and requirements necessary to ensure measurementquality and provide measurement assurance (metrology).- Ability to understand, interpret, and analyze process behavior to discover issuesand find solutions for production issues.- Ability to read and interpret drawings of complex nature to develop in-processand receiving inspection plans.theories, and concepts in the field.- Ability to work without supervision. Independent problem solver.- Works with other disciplines to support goals of the business.Desired Qualifications:- Certified Quality Engineer Certificate preferred.- Six Sigma Lean Manufacturing and Green Belt certification preferred.- Experience with the requirements for Advanced Product Quality Planning andProduction Part Approval Process.
