Director of Procurement

**Position Summary**: The Director of Procurement provides leadership, direction, and expertise to a team responsible for the identification, procurement, and usage of carrier networks for the company's holdings. This role involves overseeing carrier cost and contract negotiations, as well as identifying key carriers to build capabilities for the company's customers and vendors. The Director will lead a team of carrier development and relationship professionals and support the operations teams.**Key Responsibilities**:- Contribute to the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of procurement, purchasing, logistics, and distribution strategies to ensure cost-effective processes.- Develop, maintain, and manage relationships with carriers and customers at all organizational levels to deliver mutual benefits aligned with business objectives.- Select and approve suppliers or partners through a thorough selection process that aligns with the company's strategies.- Negotiate the best possible pricing and terms with vendors, ensuring compliance with company directives.- Make autonomous commitments and sign orders and contracts on behalf of the company to achieve optimal cost-benefit outcomes.- Participate in negotiations and commitments with customers to provide the best support for their needs.- Ensure transparency and traceability in negotiations and commitments due to the sensitivity of the role's impact on company costs and results.- Identify and implement continual improvement initiatives to enhance team and company performance.**Education and Experience**:- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.- Proven experience in the carrier procurement space is required.- Skilled negotiator with the ability to drive negotiations forward and achieve agreements, while maintaining composure under pressure.- Proficient in both written and verbal communication, capable of adjusting and presenting communications to various audiences clearly and concisely.- Experience working with both domestic and international teams and customers.- Leadership experience in managing a team of sales and procurement professionals.- Ability to collaborate effectively with teams, leaders, and business units within PTI holdings.- Willingness and ability to travel to/from the United States as required.**Supervisory Responsibilities**:This role provides direct supervision for one or more staff members.**Competencies**:- ** Leadership**: Ability to develop and empower team members, create a safe work environment, and provide clear expectations and recognition.- ** Communication**: Ability to convey information clearly and concisely, engage with individuals or groups effectively, and listen actively.- ** Customer Focus**: Ensuring the customer's perspective drives strategic priorities, decisions, and processes.- ** Work Standards**: Setting and maintaining high standards of performance and integrity.- ** Decision Making**: Skill in identifying problems and opportunities, gathering and analyzing information, and making timely, effective decisions.- ** Driving for Results**: Setting high goals and tenaciously working to achieve them.- ** Innovation**: Ability to create novel solutions that add measurable value.- ** Strategic Planning**: Skill in obtaining information, identifying key issues, and committing to a course of action to achieve long-term goals.**Travel**:- 25-35%**Language Skills**:- This role requires superior verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.**Physical Demands**:- This position requires the ability to work with the computer for long period of time.
