Title and Summary Senior Enterprise Operations Engineer Job Description Summary The Mission Control and Operations Application Support Team is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to help monitor and resolve issues. The role involves automation and implementing best practices. Are you a problem solver who loves understanding how things work? Are you passionate about automation and CI/CD practices? Mission Control and Operations is leading Mastercard's DevOps transformation through tooling, advocating for change and standards across development, quality, release, and product teams. We value team members who are eager to innovate and push automation boundaries. Experience collaborating across development, operations, and product teams to prioritize needs and build relationships is highly valued. Responsibilities For all team members: Monitor and respond to production alerts across multiple applications. Approach problem-solving holistically by connecting dots during production events. Review current tools, identify gaps, and consult with support teams for cost-effective solutions. Collaborate with a global team across various geographies and time zones. Share knowledge and mentor junior team members. Participate in the entire service lifecycle, from design to deployment, operation, and refinement. Analyze ITSM activities and provide feedback to development teams on operational gaps or resiliency issues. Maintain service health by monitoring availability, latency, and system performance. Scale systems sustainably through automation and improve systems for reliability and speed. Support CI/CD pipelines, promote software through environments, and lead DevOps automation efforts. Practice sustainable incident response and conduct blameless postmortems. Qualifications BS in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent experience. Strong problem-solving skills, ownership, and communication abilities. Experience with algorithms, data structures, scripting, pipeline management, and software design. Experience supporting web applications, SOAP and REST APIs, Tomcat, and Apache. Proficiency in SQL queries is highly desirable. Ability to debug, optimize code, and automate tasks. Experience dealing with stakeholders and making decisions under pressure. Knowledge of programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, Go, Perl, or Ruby. Interest in large-scale distributed systems troubleshooting and design. Corporate Security Responsibility All activities involving Mastercard assets, information, and networks carry inherent risks.
