At Capital One Technology Labs Mexico, we're seeking a visionary Director of Software Engineering to lead our software engineering teams in delivering innovative technologies that transform the way people live and work.

This technology leader will oversee the cloud infrastructure of our critical platform and its underlying ecosystem of services, including feature management, edge infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and associated components in AWS for one of the largest and most digitally advanced financial institutions serving millions of customers across multiple lines of businesses.

You thrive in fast-paced, technologically forward-leaning environments and are not afraid to push boundaries. Your expertise in emerging and traditional technologies, such as AWS, Java, Python, New Relic, Splunk, Datadog, Swift, and Kotlin, will drive innovation and growth within our organization.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Influence executive stakeholders to drive business strategy and growth.
  • Lead, manage, and grow multiple teams of software engineers, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
  • Mentor and guide the professional and technical development of engineers on your team, ensuring their continued growth and success.
  • Collaborate with product leaders to define strategy, roadmap, and destination architecture, driving business value and customer satisfaction.
  • Manage a diverse portfolio of technology platforms and projects, building scalable applications that meet customer needs.
  • Continuously improve software engineering practices, staying at the forefront of industry trends and best practices.
  • Work within and across Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support technical solutions across a full-stack of development tools and technologies.
  • Lead the craftsmanship, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • Stay curious and passionate about new technologies, experimenting with and learning from them, and mentoring others within the engineering community.
  • Promote innovation, inclusion, outside-the-box thinking, teamwork, self-organization, and diversity, creating a collaborative and dynamic work environment.
Basic Qualifications
  • Intermediate-Advanced English fluency.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 8 years of experience in software development.
  • At least 7 years of experience in people management.
  • At least 5 years of experience with AWS.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree.
  • 13+ years of experience in software development.
  • 8+ years of experience with public cloud providers (AWS, GCP).
  • 8+ years of experience in Agile practices.
  • 7+ years of experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
