**TEXAS LEADERSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS*******Job Title: Lead Maintenance Worker*******Department: Operations*******Reports To: Operations Manager*******FLSA Status: Non-Exempt*******GENERAL PURPOSE**:**A lead maintenance worker shall assist the Operations Manager or his/her designee in managing the maintenance staff both operationally and administratively. Additionally, a lead maintenance worker shall perform the duties of a maintenance worker, as needed or necessary.*******PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:*****_ The following duties _**_ARE NOT_**_ intended to serve as a comprehensive list of all duties performed by all employees in this classification, only a representative summary of the primary duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed and may be required to perform additional, position-specific duties._********:- **Provide direction and assistance to maintenance staff.****:- **Assist the Operations Manager with planning and coordination of work schedules and training.****:- **Assist Operations Manager with inventory control and purchasing of materials and tools needed.****:- **Assist Transportation Department with repairs and maintenance of vehicles, as needed.****:- **Ensure accurate records of repairs needed and completed are kept as well as materials used.****:- **Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all staff, students, and community members.********SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:******:- **Help with general facility maintenance and repair, including repairing woodwork: replacing electrical switches, fixtures, and motors; painting, repairing, and replacing plumbing fixtures and drainage systems; and replacing broken glass****:- **Examine facility exterior and interior, playground equipment and grounds; perform maintenance and minor repairs****:- **Advise supervisor on all detected major facility repairs****:- **Conduct all repairs as assigned by work order or supervisor****:- **Assist with ground maintenance including moving and detailing****:- **Assist with moving of furnishings, such as desks, tables, chairs, file cabinets, etc. and perform repairs when needed****:- **Hang pictures, mirrors, blackboards, bulletin boards, projection screens, towel dispensers, soap dispensers and other items as requested.****:- **Install door and window assemblies and hardware, including window glass and screens.****:- **Install ceiling and flooring materials.****:- **Transport charter equipment and furniture****:- **Use equipment and tools following charter safety guidelines.****:- **Follow charter safety guidelines and techniques to accomplish job duties****:- **Make work area free of unsafe conditions and inform supervisor of problems that cannot be immediately corrected.****:- **Keep tools and equipment in optimum working order through required preventative maintenance.********MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS*******Skills**:******:- **Capable of following verbal and written instructions.****:- **Working knowledge of basic construction and routine maintenance and repair procedures.****:- **Effective verbal communication skills.****:- **Capable of operating hand and power tools.****:- **Capable of independent work****:- **Must possess a valid TX driver's license and meet minimum insurance eligibility requirements.********Physical Demands / Work Environment**:******:- **Work requires being on your feet for long periods of time****:- **Lifting of up to 50 pounds unassisted****:- **Exposure to outside conditions****:- **Travel may be required
