This position will also be required to support the Gearing Division Operations teams on a regular basis.Key Accountabilities- Perform a variety of engineering tasks to assist in the execution of engineering projects and implementing cost saving opportunities.- Take responsibility for and complete key tasks on a project-by-project basis, driving to meet deadlines to ensure project success.- Track projects throughout a gate process, collaborating with team members to optimize products to achieve savings goals (MCO).- When appropriate, create test plans to validate design concepts and material or manufacturing changes, summarizing results and documenting conclusions.- With direct supervision and support from fellow team members, develop knowledge of Gearing products to write specifications, Job Instruction Sheets (JIBs), assist manufacturing and shop floor personnel, and interact with suppliers.Job Requirements, Capabilities, and Success Factors- 0 - 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Previous experience designing mechanical components is preferred- Requires Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent- Knowledge of 3D Solid Modeling software such as SolidWorks, Inventor, CREO, and/or CATIA is preferred- Proficient in Microsoft Word and advanced MS Excel skills- Experience with Design of Experiments is preferred- High level of interpersonal skills- Capable of working within a team structure- Detail oriented and self-motivated- Excellent communication and presentation skills- Ability to create and interpret drawings and specifications- Knowledge of metals and composites; materials background a plus.
