We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our ecommerce team.What problem will you be solving?We need to increase the capability level and workload capacity of the Accounting team so that part-time CFO can focus on higher level responsibilities.- Manage financial accounts for Parent company & 1 subsidiary across several different lines of business- Well developed knowledge of US accounting practices (GAAP)- Demonstrated experience overseeing accounting staff- Project management experience and the ability to identify problems, research solutions, propose plans of action, and implement change.- Proven experience and comfort with technology, including implementation of software and technology solutions to automate or improve processes**RESPONSIBILITIES**:**People Management & Training**- Oversee 1 full time bookkeeper on staff- Improve SOPs and processes- Recruit/hire more staff as needed**Tax**- US Sales tax payments- Oversee VAT payments for UK, Canada**A/P & A/R**- Approve payroll and large vendor payments- Expense audit/reconciliation- Monitor SAAS subscription database- Oversee customer financial accounts including invoice financing**Reporting**- Preparing & analyzing monthly financials- Budget vs actual reporting- Cash forecast**Process Improvement**- Technology implementation- Workflow optimization- Expense reduction & auditing**SOFTWARE**:- Xero accounting- ERP or inventory/order management software**SKILLSET**:- Demonstrated ability to work in a leadership role and supervise junior-level subordinates- Extremely organized and process driven. Able to create, manage, and improve complex processes and automate time consuming tasks- Trustworthy and reliable at handling confidential financial information with discretion.- Must be an outstanding communicator, and have established skills in accuracy, organization, and working in a high-volume environment- Have a keen eye for detail, particularly with pattern recognition in large data sets and with numbers & financial information**EXPERIENCE**:- Working knowledge of tax filing and tax compliance as it pertains to state and federal level regulations- Significant hands-on experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Xero or Quickbooks Online, and inventory management software- Five years' experience working with small to mid-size businesses with high-volumes of transactions- Our core values:_At South Street Designs, we believe in creating an environment where everyone can be their authentic selves and contribute their unique perspective to the team.
