Head of Pharma Growth

Evio Overview Evio is a highly unique pharmacy solutions company that was founded by and works closely with health plans to implement transformative (to cost, quality, access and experience) initiatives primarily focused on specialty and other high-cost medication solutions. In 2020, a group of five amazing Blue Cross Blue Shield health plans that in total serve more than 20 million members recognized that the way medications get to patients needs significant reform—rapidly rising costs and massive system complexities are detrimental to patients and the entire industry. In 2025, Wellmark joined as Evio's first non-founding investor and sixth owner health plan. Each company made, and continues to make, significant investments to establish Evio as an independent entity to lead this transformation. Evio has advanced analytics and contracting capabilities at scale, and a suite of digital tools, to power our high-cost medication solutions. Our solutions act as a self-reinforcing “flywheel” where each element strengthens and feeds into the next, and support an “Only Evio can do that,” mindset and prioritization. Evio is also a company that has invested heavily in and been highly intentional about people, team and culture. We believe we have created a very special place to work and encourage candidates to observe and ask us about our culture and decide for themselves. Evio's Values Empathy – The people our business serves always come first. We care for our teammates and put ourselves in the shoes of our health plan customers and the patients and clinicians our solutions benefit. Diversity – We are committed to fostering a culture where everyone belongs and is valued for their background, experience and insights – one that encourages diversity of ideas, and is a nurturing, trusting, and accepting place for all. Adventure – We are flexible, thrive in ambiguity, fail fast, and pivot quickly to get to a better answer. We celebrate wins and pivots with equal intensity. Relentless – Guided by evidence and data, we are creative, curious, and unwavering in our pursuit of challenging the status quo and each other. Transparency – Just as we seek to bring transparency to the pharmacy supply chain, authenticity and integrity are core to the way we communicate. Excellence – We strive to raise the bar in all we do by hiring and developing exceptional talent and holding ourselves and our thinking to the highest standard. Head of Pharma Growth We are looking for an experienced, high talent, business leader to join our Evio Access team and be responsible for driving pharma deal flow and revenue in this emerging business segment. Evio Access focuses on entering into innovative agreements with pharma manufacturers that reduce the cost of specialty drugs for Evio’s customer health plans and their members as well as selling manufacturers Evio’s distinctive analytic and real‑world evidence insights. With the direct support of the CEO, Chief Customer Officer, and General Counsel, this role will engage with key stakeholders including the board, payer clients and pharma customers. An ideal candidate brings a deep understanding of the pharmaceutical supply chain, payer‑pharma market access strategies, exceptional problem solving and executive presence, and a proven track record of structuring and closing pharma‑payer deals. This is a hands‑on, execution‑focused role in a high‑growth business segment requiring strategic vision, industry credibility, and a willingness to roll up their sleeves. Job Specifics In this role, you will partner with several senior Evio leaders to: Develop and execute a growth strategy for Evio Access product portfolio, including pipeline development, prospect prioritization, and opportunity development. Lead design of creative deal structures with pharma for medications that Evio payer customers are seeking access to, focusing on value-based agreements and direct purchase models (non-rebate arrangements). Refine Evio Access offerings based on market and payer/pharma feedback, identifying solution gaps and informing product roadmap. Manage deal cycle from origination to closure, incorporating input from various cross-functional teams, including legal and operations. Serve as a key external representative for Evio Access at industry meetings, conferences, and with pharma and payer customers, including some live and virtual Evio board interaction. Create and drive ideas and activity relentlessly and independently, embracing the adventure of our ever-changing environment. Partner with and mentor 2‑3 internal commercial teammates, ensuring execution discipline and deal progression. Be willing to travel up to 25% (with high variability) based on meeting requirements and business needs; however, significant amount of deal creation and negotiation can be done virtually. The skills and experience you bring to this role include 10+ years of experience, with extensive experience either with a pharma manufacturer or in a pharma-facing role at a health plan or PBM. Industry expertise in the full medication supply chain, spanning pharmacy and medical benefits, specialty pharmacy and distributor dynamics. Deep understanding of: Health plan pharmacy decision‑making, including benefit design considerations, PBM dynamics, and provider‑payer relationships. Pharmacy and medical benefit claims data. Developing Evio Access strategies that will deliver value for each of Evio’s six customers health plans by analyzing and synthesizing formulary/medical policy positioning and utilization patterns across these investor/customers, along with incorporating financial modeling, clinical, and provider considerations. Ability to partner with incorporate clinical/therapeutic considerations into the design of pharma‑payer deals, including product positioning within formularies and medical policies. Directing financial structure modeling for payer‑pharma deals (e.g. provide the list of comparable products, scenarios, utilization/shift assumptions, and pricing assumptions to Evio’s analysts, who will perform the financial modeling). Proven experience structuring and closing innovative pharma‑payer contracts, with deep understanding of rebates, pricing and regulatory implications, formulary access, trade relations, and supply chain dynamics. Exceptional strategic and creative problem‑solving, with a acumen showing ability to drive sales of new solutions, not just consult or advise on strategies for existing offerings. Energy around digging into data and partnering with clinical experts to identify and develop new opportunities and quantify their potential impact for plans and patients. Very strong communication and executive presence; able to engage with board members, pharma executives, and payer leadership representing Evio and our privileged market position. Ability to operate in a hands‑on environment—excited by building vs. inheriting scaled processes without the typical pharma‑ or PBM-sized teams; this is very much a “get your hands dirty” role. Collaborative mindset with ability to work across cross‑functional teams in a high‑paced environment. Salary Considerations Anticipated annual base pay range: $200,000 - $230,000 plus 40‑60% variable compensation target based on performance. At Evio, we’re committed to building a competitive compensation package to honor the value our teammates bring as well as attract and retain top talent that is aligned with our culture, mission and values. Compensation includes base pay (range shown) and could include other variable compensation opportunities depending on job seniority, location, and date of hire.
