POSITION PURPOSE AND EXPECTATION:We are seeking a detail-oriented Customs Compliance Specialist to join our team in Tijuana. This position plays a critical role in ensuring our company's import and export activities comply with all applicable customs regulations, trade agreements, and internal policies.**Key Responsibilities**- Monitor and ensure compliance with Mexican customs laws, USMCA/T-MEC regulations, and other applicable trade agreements- Prepare and review import/export documentation, including commercial invoices, certificates of origin, and customs declarations- Classify products according to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and determine appropriate duty rates- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government agencies to facilitate smooth cross-border operations- Conduct internal audits of customs documentation and processes to identify and address compliance gaps- Keep up-to-date with changes in customs regulations and trade policies- Train and advise internal teams on customs compliance requirements- Assist with customs inquiries, audits, or investigations- Develop and maintain customs compliance procedures and documentation- Monitor and analyze import/export data to identify trends and potential issues**Qualifications**- Bachelor's degree in International Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field- Minimum 2-3 years of experience in customs compliance, preferably in the retail sector- In-depth knowledge of Mexican customs laws and USMCA/T-MEC regulations- Experience with customs classification, valuation, and origin determination- Proficiency in both Spanish and English (written and verbal)- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills- Excellent organizational and time management abilities- Experience with customs compliance software and ERP systems- Knowledge of international trade terms and documentation**Preferred Qualifications**- Customs Broker license or relevant certification- Experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection regulations- Knowledge of retail supply chain operations- Familiarity with specific product categories relevant to our business
