Controls Engineer

Overview:Perform high level technical controls programming, troubleshooting and updates/repairs at designated customer locations as required. Must be willing to provide remote services 24/7/365 as requested, and be willing to travel to customer locations as needed.**Responsibilities**:- **Technical Support**- Assist with the development of parts and service quotes. Uses advanced product line knowledge to help Application Engineering, Service and Customer Service create complex quotes for machines and parts/services.- Traveling to customer sites to perform controls start-ups and/or trouble-shooting of food processing equipment, and/or for self or operator training. Perform controls audits as necessary. Ensures that project costs and schedules are met.- Creates and reviews, designs, drawings, BOMs, specifications, etc. and ensures that projects meet specifications, standards and performance requirements within area of expertise.- Meets with potential customers as needed by sales staff to determine needs along with recommending solutions.- Writes processes, procedures and policies as required.- Broadly recognized as a technical leader and offers significant contributions to a variety of problems and/or projects. Regularly assigned ownership of multiple large projects with time sensitive completion schedules.- ** Field Logistics**- Creating functional OIT screens for operator interaction- Write and/or modify PC or PLC programs to control industrial food processing equipment- Prepare written information, documentation, reports, correspondence, procedures and/or specifications as required. Service call reports will be required for every customer visit.- ** Personal Development**- Uses independent judgment, consistently and clearly demonstrates creativity and innovation in finding solutions. Identifies root cause of problems. Develops alternative solutions and communicates associated benefits and risks.- Contributes to improvements in internal processes, standards and designs to insure efficient development of systems and products to meet our customers and our business expectations.- Adhere to JBT operating policies and code of ethics. This includes compliance with JBT’s off-site safety policy, and all other safety policies and procedures as trained on.- Recognize and take corrective actions to ensure safe work behaviors, conditions and/or practices.- Actively progress industry and JBT product offering knowledge base, and associated skills. Attend appropriate training or industry events in order to stay informed of and make good use of new technology, products and personal development opportunities.- Focus on improving the customers’ experience in doing business with JBT.- ** Safety**- Meet all monthly safety requirements as established by the HSE Department- Attend all required site Safety Training sessions or complete and submit make-up materials to HSE.- Comply with all JBT safety policies and guidelinesQualifications:BS in Mechatronic, Electronic, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.- Minimum 5 years’ experience.- System and Software Knowledge / Experience- RS Logix 5000/500- RS Linx Factory Talk View SE- Factory Talk View ME- RS View32- Rockwell Automation Transaction Manager- Rockwell Automation BOOTP-DHCP Service- MS 2010 Excel, Word & Access- MS SQL 2008- MS Visual Basic- Experience programming Human Machine Interface (HMI) devices.- Experience with automation and electro-mechanical troubleshooting.- Exceptional technical writing and documentation skills.- Ability to read and interpret hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical prints.- Ability to be flexible to meet the needs of the team as needs arise.- Proactive mindset, self-starter, with demonstrated ability to meet deadlines while working as a team- Proven ability to provide basic controls training and support to internal field staff with patience.- Valid Driver’s License and valid passport.**WORK ENVIRONMENT CONSIDERATIONS**:- Industrial manufacturing environment.- Occasional overtime required.- Walking, sitting, standing, bending, climbing, crawling, driving, reading, seeing, hearing, speaking, concentrating, communicating.LI-AR1
