We offer flexible paid time off- Great work deserves **recognition. **We have a robust recognition program, with ongoing and enhanced awards for exemplary performance.**How You Will Contribute**:Reporting to the Senior Director, Systems Integration Product Services, as an Operations System Integration Engineer, you will focus on the integration of multi-vendor solutions into our customers' operations: OSS, BSS, lawful intercept, network management systems, and element management systems.- You will collaborate with Ciena colleagues and industry partners to convert top-level architectures into operationalized networks and integrate multi-vendor network equipment, orchestrators, OSSs, BSSs, EMSs, and NMSs.- You will perform project delivery, both remotely and on customer’s sites, as well as solution life cycle management activities: evaluation and impact assessment of revisions to solution components.- You will support customer engagements, including technical sessions, questions, planning, progress updates, and issue resolution.- You will be accountable for implementing proof of concepts (PoC) and demonstrate those for customers and customer clients.**What Does Ciena Expect of You?**- ** Customer Focused - **what’s important to the customer is also important to you. You make exceeding customer expectations your mission.- ** Initiative -** You’re a self-starter who works with limited direction, is committed to delivering against aggressive deadlines, and does whatever it takes to get the job done.- ** Agility **- you are readily able to manage competing and ever-changing priorities.- ** Communication expertise** - you have the ability to quickly understand requirements and tailor your message, ideas and presentation to the audience to ensure understanding and agreement.- The flexibility to **work independently** and as **part of a broader team** - you thrive in a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team environment, but are comfortable working independently as required.**The Must Haves**:- The successful applicant for this role will have 6+ years of experience working in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field preferably with systems integration delivery roles.- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science, coupled with extensive experience working in the Information and Communications Technology (ICT) field, preferably with systems integration delivery roles.- Understanding of the Telco OSS ecosystem and ideally deep knowledge of one or more of the existing OSS provider's products - Ciena Blue Planet, Amdocs, Ericsson, Netcracker, Oracle, Nokia, ETI, etc.- Familiarity with telecommunications technologies including DWDM, OTN, Ethernet, SDWAN, DOCIS, PON, IP, 5G, xhaul transport, and network security and telecom industry standards TM Forum Open APIs, ETSI, 3GPP, and TOSCA Orchestration modeling.- Knowledge of hypervisor technologies and software for building and managing virtualized services: OpenStack, VMWare, KVM, Linux, RedHat, and public clouds as well as networking protocols experience with TCP/IP, SSL, XML, SNMP, NETCONF, SSTP etc.- Experience with REST and NETCONF API, automation, and scripting skills including: Ansible, Gitlab CI, JSON, YAML, and Python and a basic understanding of DevOps and agile development methodologies.- Availability to travel to support customer engagements.**Assets**:- Ciena MCP background.- Ciena Routing & Switching, Cisco CCNA, or other industry certifications.- Experience with cloud-based deployments (eg.
