Our focus on teamwork ensures that each of our specialty merchandisers meets both the customer’s requirements and our exacting standards._**Position Summary**The Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and enhancement of new and existing products, which includes but is not limited to completing research, 3D modeling, and engineering documentation.**Essential Duties/Job Responsibilities (Job Duties)**- Design, develop, and conduct tests for new products and product improvements.- Research and draft blueprints, engineering plans, and graphics.- Use design software to develop 3D models and prototypes; convert ideas into models and plans.- Identify solutions to improve product efficiency.- Assess all engineering prototypes to determine issues or risks.- Estimate cost limits and budgets for new designs.- Regularly communicate with those who submitted design request; revise ideas as required.**Minimum Qualifications/Skills**:- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or design.- Proficiency with 3D parametric software.- Proficiency with using alpha/numeric data in design and analysis environment.- Excellent listening skills; as well as strong written and verbal communication skills.- Excellent math skills.- Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and schematics.- Strong attention to detail.- English Level 70% Minimum**Experience**:- 2-3 years of experience in the practice of engineering in product design, development, and modification.- Experience in a light manufacturing setting desired.- Experience with 3D and 2D CAD such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, or similar design software desired.**Requirements**:- Will work primarily in an office environment; will also be in lab and/or plant settings.- Will work on computer using a variety of Office, design, and engineering software.- Ability to work independently within a team environment.- May lift to 40 lbs. on occasion.- This job description is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all tasks and duties associated with this position which may differ from time to time based on the needs of the company and business unit._- Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of this position with or without accommodation.
