Sourcing And Procurement Lead

This role is located at our new manufacturing plant in Ramos Arizpe, Mexico. In this role under the direction of the Director of International Sourcing and Supply Chain and in coordination with the global sourcing leads, the Sourcing and Procurement Lead LATAM will develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies to meet the growing needs of a regional supply base for the materials and packaging used in Mexico. In accordance with the company policies and procedures, he will establish and maintain a supply base that meets or exceeds expectations of quality and quantity to the economic advantage of the company. He will analyze daily the raw materials and packaging requirements for the plant (using QAD MRP), prepare relevant purchase orders and follow up their execution with the suppliers. What You'll Be Doing: Develop and execute regional sourcing and procurement strategies to meet the requirements of the plant for all the materials needed. Develop a profound knowledge of the LATAM market for polymers and polymers additives. Analyze requirements that impact competitiveness and/or affect availability and delivered cost of those raw materials. Maintain technical competency and remain current in technology and changes in the industry. Understand technical and commercial requirement of the LATAM business unit to develop and execute specific sourcing and procurement strategies leading to an optimal cost position for SACO AEI Polymers. Ensure our material specifications are shared and met by the suppliers. Meet and negotiate contracts with local suppliers to obtain the best economic position for the companies through pricing, terms of payment, quality and delivery. Analyze daily material and packaging requirement of the plant using QAD MRP reports, create and submit purchase orders, follow up their execution with the suppliers in order to ensure on time delivery of all the materials needed. Manage ongoing supplier relationship, maintain appropriate records for an evaluation of our supplier base. Negotiate resolution of disputes, changes in scope and material price changes. Maintain material, pricing, and vendor databases to ensure current and accurate information from our ERP system. Meet with vendors / suppliers to discuss current products, potential new products, and on-time delivery and quality and carry out Technical and Quality System based audits when needed. What You Need To Succeed: Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office and ERP software, preferably QAD. At least a bachelor's degree in business, Chemistry, or Chemical Engineering. MBA and / or professional Certification is a plus. A minimum of 2 years relevant strategic procurement. Knowledge of basic chemical manufacturing processes and of the major factors that influence the markets and prices for the major materials. Strong communication skills in Spanish and English (written and verbal) are required. Solid market knowledge and ability to quickly become recognized internally and externally as knowledgeable in the supply markets polymers related chemicals. Communication: Ability to professionally represent SACO AEI Polymers and position the company as an attractive customer for potential new partners. Display strong interpersonal and communication skills with individuals at all levels. Organization: The ability to organize diverse information, analyze and resolve disputes, understand internal customer requirements, make independent decisions, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Negotiation: Proven ability to develop and deliver persuasive argumentation in pricing and contract negotiations is essential. Technical: Able to lead the scientific and quality assessment of potential supply sources to ensure products meet company requirements. Attention to details: maintain data records in the ERP system, prepare contracts and purchase orders, track flawless execution. The ability to influence and persuade individuals at all levels of SACO AEI Polymers and supplier organizations to gain support for key procurement initiatives.
