Lead Software Engineer - Full stack/Frontend
We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer - Full stack/Frontend with strong React and Front End skills to our Digital team. This challenging position requires someone to think independently, lead, and work collaboratively across multiple disciplines, including working with a variety of technology stacks (as required). It is an opportunity to work for a great company with smart people on large systems that are used worldwide.


About the Role:

  • Leads multiple and/or significant projects, programs and business initiatives, demonstrating creativity and ingenuity.
  • Delivers end-to-end technical solutions and solves complex problems that may be ambiguous in nature.
  • Determines work priorities based on general direction from managers.
  • Supports and develops software engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities.
  • Provides specialist advice to middle and senior management to resolve complex issues.
  • Recommends modifications to the daily operations of the assigned work group/team. Makes needed adjustments to short-term priorities.
  • Interacts with direct team of accountability, peers, and/or managers in other teams.
  • Shows passion for efficiency and collaboration, with a history of establishing great relationships.
  • Shows commitment and drive for quality, technical excellence, and results.
  • Models curiosity and displays passion to constantly learn new things.
  • Communicates with product and business teams to gather and analyze the business requirements and translate them into technical design and prepare functional/technical specification documents.
  • Researches and identifies new software technologies that can be leveraged to improve application performance and development efficiency, reducing cost and maintaining quality, working closely with development leads.
  • Develops Fullstack, high resilience, low latency information management and processing systems in the tax and legal worlds.
  • Provides creative and elegant solutions to complex problems.
  • Prepares technical specifications and documentation.
  • Participates in internal team and status meetings, in project planning sessions with team members to analyze development requirements, provide design options, and provide work breakdown and estimates of work.
  • Participates in software releases.
  • Works together with the team and other teams to deliver high-grade, performant, well-documented, and resilient features.
  • Works together with the Quality Assurance team to prepare test plans/test cases and define test execution methodology and perform tests. Identifies and fixes any defects.
  • Works together with the system operation team to ensure system stability and maintain high availability.

About You:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • Managing code and changes in a team environment to include experience with source control utilities, such as Git.
  • Experience with Web technologies, such as: ASP, ASPX, AngularJS, CSS, and HTML 5.
  • Experience with Back End and Cloud technologies, such as: Boomi, Java, AWS, Data Manipulation.
  • Leadership skills with a track record of mentoring, setting technical goals, and delegating tasks.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging experience.
  • Comfortable leading design discussions in addition to hands-on development.
  • Working and interacting with a geographically and culturally diverse team.
  • Mentoring junior developers and translating requirements from business partners.
  • Cloud technology experience (e.g. AWS, Azure), or Docker.
