Psychosocial Attention Protocol Consultant

**Project Summary**:For the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Journalists (PDP) is a project financed by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) with the objective of improving the institutional capacity of government and non-government actors involved in the protection of human rights defenders and journalists. This project will facilitate the creation of a safer civic space with freedom of expression and the guarantee of human rights. PDP will conduct activities with counterparts and allies at the federal and state levels.**Please note: Only Mexican citizens are eligible for this position.****Position Summary**:The Psychosocial Attention Protocol Consultant will carry out a protocol on psychosocial care and attention for journalists and/or human rights defenders that find themselves at risk and provide recommendations for its use and implementation.**Responsibilities**:- Review relevant materials on the issue to provide feedback and use them as a base for building a protocol on psychoemotional attention to at-risk journalists and human rights defenders.- Provide editorial and content review on previously prepared materials with PDP to create a first draft of the protocol on psychoemotional attention to at-risk journalists and human rights defenders.- Participate in meetings for exchanging ideas with other civil society organizations that have worked with journalists with a psychosocial attention perspective.- Collect, systematize, and prepare a report on call-in support process for journalists by the Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila with the aim of learning from the experience and setting up monitoring.- Review relevant bibliography and materials on the issue.- Review materials produced by PDP.- Methodological design of the protocol.- Exchange of ideas with other civil society collectives/organizations.**Perfil de la Compañía**:**Resumen del proyecto**:Por la Protección de Personas Defensoras y Periodistas (PDP) es un programa de la Agencia de los Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional (USAID). PDP tiene el objetivo de contribuir a mejorar la capacidad institucional y operativa de actores gubernamentales y no gubernamentales involucrados en la protección de las personas defensoras de derechos humanos y periodistas. A través de este programa, se pretende apoyar en la generación de un espacio cívico más seguro para el ejercicio de la libertad de expresión y la defensa de derechos. PDP trabajará hasta agosto de 2026 y realiza actividades con contrapartes y aliados a nível federal y estatal.**Por favor tenga en cuenta que: Solo los ciudadanos mexicanos son elegibles para este cargo.****Resumen del cargo**:PDP requiere a una persona consultora que realice un protocolo de atención y cuidado psicosocial para periodistas y/o defensores de derechos humanos que se encuentran en riesgo, además de recomendaciones para su aplicación e implementación.**Responsabilidades**:- Revisar materiales relevantes en el tema para retroalimentar y usarlos como base para el protocolo en construcción sobre atención psicoemocional de periodistas y defensores de derechos humanos en riesgo.- Realizar una revisión editorial y de contenido a los materiales elaborados con anterioridad por PDP, para armar un primer borrador del protocolo en construcción sobre atención psicoemocional de periodistas y defensores de derechos humanos en riesgo.- Participar en reuniones de intercambio de ideas con otros colectivos y/o organizaciones de sociedad civil que han trabajado con periodistas con una perspectiva de atención psicosocial.- Facilitar reuniones de capacitación para la correcta aplicación del protocolo.- Recopilar, sistematizar y elaborar un informe sobre el proceso de atención telefónica a periodistas, por la Universidad Autónoma de Coahuila que tenga el objetivo de aprender de la experiência y plantear rutas de seguimiento.- Revisión de materiales y bibliografía relevante en el tema.- Revisión de materiales producidos por PDP.- Diseño metodológico del protocolo.- Intercambio de ideas con otros colectivos/organizaciones de sociedad civil.- Facilitar reuniones de capacitación a personas que aplicarán el protocolo.**Qualifications**:- Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social sciences and related fields required. Master’s degree in psychology, psychotherapy, psychosocial assistance, or a related field preferred.- Minimum five years of experience in psychotherapeutic, psychoemotional and/or psychosocial assistance to victims of human rights violations and/or journalists required.- Minimum two years of experience in the realm of research/academia and preparing methodologies preferrable.- Minimum two years of work experience with civil society actors, journalists and public servants preferrable.- Fluency in Spanish required.MSI is an equal opportunity employer that values diversity and inclusion.
