You will be the linchpin connecting engineering ambition with supply chain execution, ensuring that every new product launch is built on a foundation of optimal quality, innovation, and total cost of ownership (TCO). Your Mission: From Concept to Commercialization You will take full ownership of the procurement process for new product introduction (NPI) projects, leading sourcing strategy across complex categories critical to our industrial automation and motor control systems, including high-power electronics, specialized tooling, complex castings, and electromechanical components. Key Areas of Responsibility Strategic Sourcing Leadership: Define, develop, and execute comprehensive sourcing strategies for new projects, ensuring alignment with long-term commodity roadmaps and business objectives. Design-to-Cost Champion: Embed yourself within cross-functional project teams (Engineering, R&D, Quality) to influence early design decisions, challenging specifications to drive optimal "Should-Cost" and value engineering savings before production begins. Global Negotiation & Contract Management: Lead complex commercial negotiations, including cost-breakdown analysis, tooling investment, intellectual property terms, and long-term supply agreements with global tier-1 suppliers. Risk Mitigation & Supplier Selection: Conduct thorough supply chain risk assessments (technical, financial, capacity) and expertly select and qualify suppliers that meet rigorous quality standards (APQP/PPAP knowledge is essential). Financial Accountability: Manage the project budget for all procured materials and services, regularly reporting on actual vs. target costs and driving mitigation plans to achieve committed savings targets. What We Need: The Profile of a Strategist Experience: 5-7+ years in Project Sourcing or Purchasing, preferably within the Industrial Automation, Motor Control, or Automotive sectors. Technical Fluency: Ability to read and interpret complex technical specifications, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs), bridging the gap between technical requirements and commercial realities. Financial Mastery: Proficient in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) modeling, Cost Breakdown Analysis (CBA), and applying sophisticated financial analysis to procurement decisions. Program Methodology: Proven expertise in structured NPI processes (e.g., Gate Reviews, Phase-Gate, APQP). Mindset: Highly autonomous, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and possessing a relentless drive for efficiency and continuous improvement.
