Incumbents carry out assignments within well-defined practices, procedures and policies. Works independently on details of assignments, and has limited decision-making authority; most decisions are made or guided by the immediate supervisor. Decisions/actions may have an impact on the department's/divisions goals. Works under close Supervision and requires direction on how assignments are to be executed; begins to put forward ideas on how work assignments are completed. Establishes cooperative relationships to work effectively with colleagues; supports others and participates as a team member, and takes responsibility for own work commitments. Interacts directly with immediate supervisor, co-workers and team members; engages in routine exchanges of information; interactions with external contacts, if applicable, would be monitored.**Detailed Description**:Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:- Communicates and facilitates processes and procedures related to compensation (e.g., merit increases, PDP ratings, team incentive plan), training & development (e.g., corporate development initiatives, management and employee development), benefits (e.g., open enrollment, integration of new employees into benefit plan), Affirmative Action, Diversity, and employee relations.- Communicates program changes to management team and to employees.- Assists employees with questions or problems related to benefits plans.- Partners with managers and Service Center personnel to resolve problems related to employee benefits, payroll, staffing, disability, workers compensation, awards, immigration processing, etc.- Supports activities regarding legal and regulatory impact of program changes.- Generates reports as requested.- Gathers information as requested. (e.g., PDP ratings, merit increases).**Knowledge/Skills/Competencies**:- Significant knowledge of legislation impacting the practice of human resources management.- Significant knowledge of company HR policies and practices, labor movement, arbitration proceedings.- Knowledge of local HRIS system and report writing.- Good public presentation skills.- Ability to conduct a thorough, timely and unbiased internal investigation and provide practical recommendations.- Ability to effectively communicate with a wide variety of internal customers.- Ability to evaluate multiple highly detailed tasks, determine priorities and organize work in a manner that allows for timely completion of projects.- Ability to manage sensitive employee information in a confidential manner.**Physical Demands**:- Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.- Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.- Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.**Typical Experience**:- Zero to two years of relevant experience.**Typical Education**:- Bachelor's degree in related field, or consideration of an equivalent combination of education and experience.- Educational requirements may vary by geography.**Notes**:Celestica is an equal opportunity employer.
