Since we were founded in 2013, we've stuck to our values and our commitment to foster a "No Jerks, No Egos" culture, which is a big reason we've gone from a scrappy startup to a Nasdaq-listed company and the industry-leading partner for the home in less than eight years.At Porch, no two days will ever be the same and you'll have the opportunity to help solve big problems, with a refreshing balance of team support and ownership of your work.The future is bright for the Porch Group, and we'd love for you to be a part of it, as our **Staff Accountant II****WHAT YOU WILL DO**:Responsible for assisting the controller in the day-to-day operations of the company.- Assisting in the maintenance of the general ledger by performing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.- Support the month end close process including bank reconciliations, preparing, and posting JEs for payroll, prepaids, accruals and asset entries.- Manage all aspects of the Accounts Payable from process entry to payment.- Daily bank reconciliation and entry into NetSuite leading to month end final reconciliation.- Weekly process of Claims and Refunds, print checks.- Maintain and balance petty cash sales programs both monthly and weekly.- Liaison with Operations to record and process NSF's, chargebacks, and other merchant processor items.- Maintain orderly filing system; ensure all invoices scanned and recorded electronically; Assist other team members with ad hoc reporting and analysis as requested.- Perform administrative duties relating to filing, scanning, faxing, and mailing.- Assist in document preparation with the annual external audit.**WHAT TO EXPECT**:- **Quick recruitment process** through video calls.- **Pay**:an attractive base pay rate per hour.- **Bonuses**: a compelling bonus plan to motivate you to go beyond and above to reach your goals.- **Training**:paid initial training, as well as on-going training to help you develop in your role and career.- **Career path**: this is only the beginning We offer real opportunities for career growth as our team keeps on growing- **Support**:You're working from home but not alone Your team is available in real-time to help you be successful- **Work/Life Balance**:This is a 100% remote job which means no more time wasted in traffic Spend more time at home, where your family needs you**WHAT YOU BRING**:- Bachelor's degree in accounting is required- 3+ years in accounting with strong AP and General Ledger presence.- Advanced in NetSuite.- Advanced in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Knowledge of GAAP, and experience with accrual-based accounting.- **Workspace**:A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload.- **Equipment**:a laptop (or a desktop computer) and an internet connection that meet our minimum requirements.**NOTE**: we can proceed to the interview stage even if your equipment doesn't yet meet the minimum requirements.
