Labor Relations Representative

What will you do? As a member of GM's Human Resources Group you are responsible for Labor Relations in a plant environment. You perform administrative functions as required to support hourly employees in a manufacturing organization. You maintain personnel records and completes transactions. You investigate and resolve labor disputes. You provide direction to production managers of hourly employees on Union/GM Local Agreements. You perform work independently with supervisor director to handle unusual situations. Resposibilities: Represent management in the administration of the provisions of agreements between the union and management. Advise management on the interpretation of agreements and act as the management representative in dealings with the union. Exercise independent judgment within the general policies and procedures established by the agreements; receive some direct mentorship from the supervisor. Advise management and other plant personnel on matters related to union-management relations. Administer contractual provisions in the area of responsibility. Maintain records pertinent to labor relations activity. Communicate with management about events that could disrupt operations. Play a leading role in local negotiations. Share periodic updates on labor relations. Drive activities of various departments involved in resolving employee grievances. Conduct special investigations as needed. Job Title Labor Relations Representative (Open) Work Appropriately Availability to work rotating shifts (4x3, 5x2, 6x1). On-site: This position requires to work on site on a full-time basis This position is temporary. (Six months). Additional Job Description Position Requirements: Related fields: Administration, Psychology, or any related field Required experience in similar positions for at least 2 years English Level: Intermediate-Advanced Experience working with unions, strategies for employee retention, and absenteeism Relevant knowledge and experience as labor relations representatives for at least 2 years in the industry Knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Desired Skills and Experience: Critical Skills: Effective communication, leadership, problem-solving, quick learning, proactivity, and resilience "GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role, do not apply for this role if you will need GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future".
