TasksContinental Engineering Services (CES) is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to perform software and algorithm development activities for various in-vehicle automotive electronics from the Continental portfolio.**Core Responsibilities**:- Develop, maintain and communicate software/system development content and timing for embedded automotive control modules.- Responsible for the software modules/sub-systems products developed by CES.- Participate in technical discussions (prepare / present responses) with customers.- Contact between two more departments to facilitate and ensure appropriate exchange of knowledge**Additional Responsibilities**:- Ensure all aspects of production processes for software and calibration programming are properly verified and validated.- Responsible for development of new products, and changes to existing products- Assistance with other tasks as needed and determined by Management.- Occasionally provide technical leadership and mentor personnel within the department.**Qualifications**:**Core Capabilities**:- Experience with Automotive Electronic/Electromechanical Products- Experience with 8 - 32 bit microcontrollers- Good communication skills with CES team, internal & external customers- Knowledge through extensive directly related experience- Creates value through the ability to integrate knowledge from different areas of specialized knowledge**Required Qualifications**:- Must be willing to travel (approx 20%) supporting internal and customer development trips- Minimum 3 years of embedded Software development.- Academic degree: Yes- Course of study/major study: Electrical Engineering or equivalent**Preferred Qualifications**:- 5 years experience in embedded software- Experience with embedded software architecture in Linux Systems- Experience with microcontrollers such as Freescale iMx6- Experience in Linux kernel development for systems such as Infotainment and Driver Information- Experience in Linux device drivers development- Experience in porting Linux to new CPU architectures- Extensive experience with C or C++ for embedded control systems- Experience with bash scripting or equivalent- Experience with real time operating systemsAbout usAs an engineering and production partner, Continental Engineering Services (CES) develops customized solutions for technologically challenging tasks in automotive and industrial industries.
