Overview**Job Title : Tech Writter****Location : Remote, Mexico**Technical Writers FunctionalWe expect the writer to have a solid grasp of technical writing concepts. For exampleHave a good grasp of documentation tools, and the ability to learn new tools.Understand the basic tenants of source control.Understand the concept of documentation standards and the importance of following a corporation s pre-defined standardsUnderstand that manipulating a corporations templates by introducing new styles or changing existing styles should never be done as it is difficult to find and fix corrupted templates whereas fixing poor writing is easy to correct.Present work professionally without many errors.Understand the basics of technical writing such as using procedural lists for tasks when to use tables to break up a wall of text how to write a concise paragraph introducing a feature etc.We would need a team member who canFollow directionTake complex information and transpose it into easily understood language.Take a draft from Engineering and be able to simply paste it into our documents without introducing a plethora of errors including to sections that are not asked to be edited at allTake a page of existing documentation and simply format it into our standards.Learn from mistakes and not consistently repeat the same errors.Ultimately be able to work as a team member contributing at the same level as our other writers with the ability to complete tasks in a reasonable amount of time and without constant supervision
