SUMMARY OF POSITION**:Oversees the planning, development, and implementation of procedures/processes to ensure manufacturing methods,processes and operations for new and existing products are running efficiently. Ensures the effective use ofmaterials, equipment, and personnel in producing quality products at minimum costs. Acts as liaison with otherdepartments in releasing new products. Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.**2. **ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION(S)**:**DESCRIPTION****% OF TIME**Sets and tracks department goals for planning, development and implementation of new andexisting products.30%Manages the engineering team to perform data analysis and continuously improve quality.30%Ensures effective use of materials, equipment and staff in producing quality products atminimum cost.20%Interface with other departments to resolve engineering/quality issues10%**3.** **OTHER SPECIFIC DUTIES**:**DESCRIPTION****% OF TIME**Develops systems to maintain reports and record keeping of company products.5%Ensures the Engineering team observes established safety rules and conducts experiments inrelated product area in a safe manner.5%**4. **EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED**_:_**- Number of years of study and specifically the type of training and experience._**Education**: B.S. in Engineering or Applied Sciences, M.S. preferred.**Experience**: 10+ years of managerial experience in related product area coupled with strong people management, presentation, PC, and communication skills.**Basic Training**: Induction**5.** **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES**: knowledge in lean manufacturing, problem solving (six sigma, shainin, ) core tools, operational excellence.**6. **LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY AND DECISION-MAKING AUTHORITY**:_ _specify the number of employees under your charge, budget and supervision responsibilities, sales volume, etc._Depends on division product line, budget, staff size, etc.**7. **PHYSICAL DEMANDS, WORK ENVIRONMENT AND REQUIRED SAFETY EQUIPMENT**:_Be specific_May be exposed to noise, dust, heat and cold.
