Overview Power Systems Engineer II Electric Power Engineers is designing the grid of the future. Responsibilities Perform power system impact studies: Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability. Conduct NERC-compliance technical analyses such as TPL Annual Planning Assessments. Execute full generator interconnection studies, including Sub-Synchronous Resonance (SSR) studies. Ensure renewable and/or storage resource projects interconnecting to the transmission system meet Voltage Ride-Through (VRT) requirements. Participate in ERCOT working group meetings and case-building on behalf of specific clients. Prepare technical study reports and maintain necessary data. Ensure timely completion of projects while meeting quality and budget objectives. Identify training needs and propose them to the Engineering Manager. Qualifications Proven team player with internal and external relationship building. Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, especially for technical explanations. Capability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to change. High standards for producing quality reports and products. Strong technical report writing skills. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with an emphasis in power systems. Experience performing power system impact studies (Steady State, Short Circuit, Dynamic Stability). Experience with power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA. Experience automating/programming in Python. Ability to provide on-the-job training or supervise other Power Systems Engineers and interns. Track record of executing multiple studies/tasks simultaneously. Perform complex tasks following good engineering practice and EPE procedures. Autonomous and independent execution of assigned tasks. Participation in multifunctional teams to provide input and address client comments. Assistance in developing tools, processes, and procedures that enhance engineering study completion. Location The position is open to remote Mexico. Travel Occasional travel may be needed (10% or less).
