Weight BOM Analyst

Job Description This role involves the development and application of engineering practice and knowledge in mechanical systems, devices, equipment, and machines, installing and maintaining mechanically functioning equipment, simulating a wide range of interactions and evaluating performance in real‑world scenarios, and developing prototypes for manufacturability, testing and validation. The focus is on Mechanical and Physical Engineering for an entry‑level graduate with limited commercial and technical work experience, building skills and expertise in a chosen engineering discipline. The role requires following instructions, delivering reliable results, understanding client business and needs, solving routine problems, and organizing own time with a short‑term horizon. Responsibilities Lead bill of materials validation to improve the fidelity of weight status roll‑ups in automotive product development. Generate weight BOMs regularly and conduct thorough analysis to identify issues impacting weight accounting integrity, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure accuracy. Download BOMs from corporate systems, perform detailed analysis and weight tracking to maintain data integrity. Set up and facilitate meetings with design teams to review parts and weights, confirming content and status. Work with Weight Team Leads to provide regular weight status updates to the extended team and support development of weight reduction opportunities. Coordinate component weighing activities at suppliers and assembly plants to ensure accurate measurements. Assist with validation of prototype vehicle weights by comparing them to virtual BOM roll‑ups to identify discrepancies. Qualifications Good conversational English skills (B1, C1, C2). Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university. 1‑3 years of relevant automotive product development experience (mid level). Strong knowledge of the overall program development life cycle in automotive manufacturing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with demonstrated experience in data analysis. Experience analyzing complex data sets and formulating meaningful conclusions and recommendations. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, build good working relationships and gain consensus across multiple stakeholders. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Self‑motivated with ability to work with limited supervision, multi‑task and prioritize workload effectively. Experience with mass properties or development of weight estimates in the automotive or aerospace field is highly desirable. Preferred Qualifications Proficient at conducting data analysis and formulating observations. Ability to work in a team, build good working relationships and gain consensus.
