Supplier Quality Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES- Assist Purchasing in the selection and evaluation of suppliers.- Lead and perform supplier evaluations, assessments, and subcontractor quality audits.- Communicate CVG quality policies and procedures to new suppliers and verify ongoing compliance.- Maintain and verify supplier ISO/IATF certifications.-- Ensure new product launches occur without supplier quality issues.- Provide guidance to suppliers in the development of their Quality Management Systems (QMS).- Drive supplier quality improvement initiatives, especially for new suppliers or programs.- Support plants by facilitating communication with suppliers when issues arise or responses are delayed.- Conduct onsite supplier visits to provide technical support and drive resolution of concerns related to capability, quality, delivery, or capacity.- Monitor, analyze, and report supplier performance metrics; distribute scorecards monthly as needed.- Use data-driven insights to target suppliers for development and improve supply chain performance.- Create supplier-specific improvement plans with measurable objectives.- Partner cross-functionally to help meet plant production and quality goals.- Promote continuous improvement across supplier and internal CVG processes.- Act as a liaison between Suppliers, Engineering, Purchasing, and Production to proactively prevent and resolve quality issues.- Support change management processes (ECNs, deviations) and ensure control of nonconforming/suspect products.- Support CS1 and CS2 containment activities and perform CQI special process assessments as needed.- Complete special projects and reporting tasks as assigned.REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a related quality position, or 5 years in a related field; or a combination of education and experience.- Prior manufacturing experience required; commercial vehicle or automotive industry preferred.- English is the primary working language; bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.- Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout North America (up to 60-70%); passport required or must be eligible to obtain one.- Proficient with Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint); advanced skills in Microsoft Excel are required.- Strong experience in blueprint reading and GD&T.-- Statistics training and experience using statistical software such as Minitab; Six Sigma certification is a plus.-- Familiarity with AIAG MAQMSR for sub-tier suppliers is preferred.- Skilled in compiling, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets and maintaining supplier performance metrics.- Deep understanding of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 quality standards.- ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 Tier-2 Auditor certification is preferred.- Proven ability to prepare and present detailed reports to leadership.- Capable of independently setting work priorities based on supplier data and plant needs.- Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, interpersonal) at all organizational levels.- Strong time management, organization, and problem-solving abilities.- Adaptable and motivated to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment.- Team-oriented but able to work independently with mínimal supervision.- Knowledge of error proofing and root cause problem-solving methodologies.CVG IS AN EQUAL OPPORTUNITY EMPLOYERCommercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) is an equal employment opportunity employer such that all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.Visa SponsorshipCommercial Vehicle Group, Inc (CVG) does provide sponsorship for employment visa status based on business need.
