What’s the role?
As a Senior Manager in Seller Analytics you will be responsible for maintaining and building excellent analytics for the heart of Etsy - our sellers. This manager will be essential in working with key partners, providing critical analytics, and being a leader with vision at the forefront of future development. The Seller Analytics Senior Manager will be responsible for providing tools for deep analytics, managing a team of seller analysts, and producing recommendations for continued development in this important space. As the critical insight driver, you will be responsible for crafting and maintaining the critical data reports that drive insights and efficiency. This position acts as a thought partner to the other leaders across Etsy and will have opportunities to shape the roadmap well into the future. We are looking for someone who understands how to weigh opportunities, build robust data reporting tools, and is passionate about thinking and communicating these subjects. This is a full-time position reporting to the Sr. Manager, Finance and Payments Analytics. In addition to salary, you will also be eligible for an equity package, an annual performance bonus, and our competitive benefits that support you and your family as part of your total rewards package at Etsy.
This role requires your presence in Etsy’s Mexico City office once or twice per week depending on your proximity to the office. What’s this team like at Etsy?
Seller Services Analytics is an analytics team committed to applying the techniques of data science and analytics to drive significant insights, including:
- Leading improvements to the seller experience using data driven insights
- Understanding the nuances of Etsy’s sellers and how they interplay with Etsy’s right to win
- Building rich data sources of truth that interweave sophisticated seller data and foundational data from across the Etsy ecosystem
- Finding and advocating for outstanding opportunities for Etsy’s growth that move critical metrics
What does the day-to-day look like?
- Lead the seller analytics team with data excellence in mind
- Develop insights from trends and research in our seller data
- Work with our seller initiative to ensure product development is inline with product outcomes and data insights
- Collaborate with others to grow the CDMX analytics team
- Build foundational scripts using SQL and database skills
- Craft outstanding dashboards and visualizations using Looker
- Participate in dialogues with external vendors and collaborators including technical developers
- Connect with partners on timelines, priorities, and expectations for proposals
- Continually evaluate and refine your technical toolkit; share what you learn to the team
- Possess a deep level of curiosity and appetite for learning, which drives you to finding outstanding solutions.

Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are:
- 8+ years experience supporting seller side e-commerce, or product/engineering teams as an analyst or in a quantitative role in which you extracted meaning from sophisticated data sets.
- 2+ years experience leading a data analytics team
- Have an understanding of two-sided marketplaces and e-commerce processes
- A proficiency in SQL and some experience with Python or R
- An ability to communicate your insights verbally, visually and in writing.
- A deep care about the quality of your data and the integrity of your work.
- A passion for reproducible work and tools to this end; you can mentor others how to make their own work better and more efficient.
- A curious nature about subjects such as quantitative analysis, data visualization, and process efficiency.
- Validated project management skills and capability in carrying projects through to completion.
- A trust in and dedication to Etsy’s vision, mission and values.
