Senior Application Engineer, Hospitality Cloud – AMS Oracle is seeking a Senior Application Engineer to support our Hospitality Cloud services within the AMS organization. This role focuses on designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud applications that deliver exceptional customer experience. Job Description Work with Oracle’s world‑class technology to develop, implement, and support Oracle’s global infrastructure. Collaborate closely with internal business and development teams to drive the technical and functional global implementation of Oracle’s applications throughout the organization. Responsibilities Core duties include: Manage all aspects of internal deployment projects, including status, issues, and communications with internal teams. Define business specifications for global deployment, integration points, and data migration. Document and share application engineering standards for hotel applications to ensure standardization. Prepare maintenance runbooks and validate readiness for production implementation. Support user acceptance testing, incident management, and technical troubleshooting. Drive operational improvements for cloud service migration, monitoring, incident response, and performance. Own cloud application service architecture, data workflows, scalability, reliability, and change control. Participate in post‑mortem investigations for incidents and apply lessons learned for continuous improvement. Collaborate with pre‑sales and consulting teams to design custom solutions that meet customer requirements. Leverage automation and orchestration to reduce application engineering toil and improve customer experience. Contribute to a high‑productivity environment by training junior engineers and fostering innovation. Implement new customer environments on Windows and Linux platforms. Configure build and automation scripts using tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager, Chef, and Rundeck. Qualifications Ideal qualifications and experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 3‑5 years of experience in a best‑in‑class cloud or hosting organization, preferably in hospitality, food & beverage, or eCommerce. Strong technical knowledge of application operations, deployment, release automation, platform architecture, database, network, Linux/Windows, load balancing, clustering, and security. Detailed knowledge of applications built with Apache, WebLogic, Java, OBIEE, Fusion Middleware, Oracle database, Oracle Access Manager, Oracle Identity Manager, Oracle Identity Directory, Kubernetes, and DevOps pipelines. Methodical troubleshooting approach and ability to analyze complex solutions. Networking and security expertise (certificates, DNS, load balancers, TLS, SSL, SAML, TCP/IP). Experience with scripting languages such as Perl, UNIX shell, and batch files. Knowledge of observability tools and JVM monitoring. Experience with configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Rundeck. Track record of success in high‑velocity, high‑scale operational environments. Strong team‑player attitude, ability to learn quickly, and dedication to professional excellence.
