DIRECTOR OF GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS & COMMERCIAL SOLUTIONS MediView XR is advancing the future of image-guided medicine through Augmented Reality (AR) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). Our commercially available platforms are designed to enhance precision, workflow efficiency, and clinical outcomes in complex procedural environments. We are seeking a Director of Government Affairs & Federal Commercial Solutions to lead MediView’s federal commercialization and funding efforts, with a primary focus on federal procurement across the Department of Defense (DoD), Defense Health Agency (DHA), Veterans Affairs (VA/VHA), and related federal healthcare entities along with funded development opportunities. The Role This is an execution-focused role responsible for converting federal engagement into signed procurement, purchase, and funding commitments. The highest priority for this position is to drive system procurement, supported by federal contracting pathways, pilots, and funded programs and federally funded development opportunities. The Director will work closely with MediView leadership, the commercial team, and external federal consulting partners, to identify, pursue, and close federal opportunities. Policy and advocacy activities may be supported as needed, but this role is not a traditional policy or lobbying position. Key Responsibilities Federal Procurement & Commercial Execution (Primary Focus) Lead MediView’s federal commercialization strategy to drive procurement and purchasing of MediView solutions across DoD, VA/VHA, and other federal health systems. Own and advance execution of procurement documents, purchase agreements, pilot-to-purchase pathways, and contracting mechanisms, with a clear focus on annual procurements. Identify and pursue appropriate federal contracting vehicles (e.g., OTA, IDIQ, SBIR/STTR follow-on, GSA, VA schedules, SEWP) in partnership with external consultants and internal teams. Coordinate closely with MediView’s commercial organization to align federal opportunities with broader revenue and go-to-market strategies. Support general commercial selling activities as necessary and where they align with potential federal opportunities. Federal Funding & Strategic Programs Identify and support federally funded opportunities for development, clinical validation, and licensure of MediView technologies. Support multi-year federal budget and congressional appropriations efforts in coordination with external partners and company leadership. Coordinate internal inputs for grants, pilot programs, and government-funded initiatives, working with commercial, clinical, regulatory, and product teams as needed. Government & Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain productive working relationships with federal agency stakeholders, healthcare system leaders, and program officials. Represent MediView in meetings with government agencies, federal health systems, and select industry events tied to procurement and funding decisions. Provide leadership with clear, actionable insights on federal timelines, decision pathways, opportunity status and execution/closure of opportunities. Secondary: Policy & Cross-Functional Support Monitor relevant federal healthcare and digital health policy developments and advise leadership on potential commercial impact. Support internal teams with federal context related to regulatory, clinical, or reimbursement considerations when needed. Qualifications Required 6–10 years of experience in government affairs, federal business development, government contracting, or related roles. Demonstrated experience working within or selling into the U.S. Federal Government, particularly DoD/DHA and/or VA/VHA. Proven ability to navigate federal processes and advance opportunities toward contracts, purchase agreements, or funded programs. Experience partnering with external government relations or consulting firms to execute federal strategies. Strong understanding of healthcare technology, medical devices, or software-enabled clinical solutions. Prefer to hire in the DC area. Plus Experience with SBIR/STTR programs, OTAs, pilot-to-procurement pathways, or appropriations-funded initiatives. Washington, DC–based or deep experience operating in the DC federal ecosystem. Outstanding written and verbal communication skills Must have the ability to explain complicated concepts in science, technology, defense, and engineering in clear language. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 40 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. The individual must be capable of reviewing their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary. WORK ENVIRONMENT While performing the duties of this Job, the individual is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
