QA Engineer Manual and Automation for Mobile Apps

**About the Role**: As a Senior QA Lead at OneSeven, you will be an integral part of our growing QA team, testing web and mobile apps simultaneously through both manual and automated testing. With your strong backend development background, you'll bring technical depth to testing strategies and automation frameworks. You will lead and mentor the QA team while being hands-on in finding and reporting bugs and glitches, documenting them in our ticketing system ClickUp, and architecting test automation solutions for web and mobile apps. Your quick problem-solving abilities will be essential in identifying critical issues, troubleshooting complex scenarios, and maintaining high quality standards across our products.**Responsibilities**:- Develop/write and execute test cases, track bugs, execute scripts, plans, and procedures for mobile apps (manual and automated).- Research and find AI tools that can help QA team do the job faster and better, while minimizing manual repeatable work that can be done by AI.- Collaborate with the project team to understand product changes and QA testing requirements to deal with issues/defects in a timely manner.- Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, unit and integration testing.- Work closely with the development team to ensure that all aspects of the system have proper testing coverage and overall system reliability, performance, and quality.- Collaborate with product teams and project managers to define and prioritize test scenarios- Document automated processes comprehensively, covering test plans, test procedures, and test cases.- Analyze test results and identify areas of improvement**Required Qualifications**:- Intermediate English level (important)- 4+ years of experience working in QA positions- Proven experience as a Backend Developer, with strong understanding of software development principles and practices- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to quickly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues- Demonstrated leadership capabilities to effectively guide and mentor a QA team, including setting testing strategies, managing priorities, and driving quality initiatives- Experience establishing and optimizing QA processes and best practices- Experience with test automation platforms, systems, and tools (Playwright preferred, Cypress, Postman)- Experience with mobile testing tools Appium- Experience with JavaScript frameworks for writing unit and integration tests Jest, Mocha- Experience with DevOps tools Github Actions- Experience with source control systems GitHub- Experience with automation mobile API testing- Strong mentoring skills and leadership skills- Ability to quickly adapt, learn, and solve problems- Team player, willing to jump outside of their role to help the greater team.- Ability to research as you work- Ability to be accountable for your own time in a fully remote environment- The desire to contribute to a growing, dynamic team and help shape process, practice, and operations- You will need to provide your own workspace with reliable Internet service- Agile + Scrum Methodology knowledge- You are passionate about the startup environment and eager to learn.- You have a keen eye for detail and excel in documentation.- You are highly organized and proficient in task management.- Strong written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment**Nice to Have Qualifications**:- Experience with test automation platforms, systems, and tools (JMeter,, K6, etc.)- Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins, etc.)- Experience with source control systems (Git, GitLab, etc.)- Knowledge of bug tracking and issue management tools (Click-Up, Jira, Linear, etc.)- Experience with test case management tools is a plus (TestRail, TestLodge, Qase, etc.)- Having an ISTQB Certificate is a plus.- The ability to write, read, and understand code (Python, Typescript, Javascript, SQL, and others).- Experience with Pen Testing & Load Testing- Knowledge of cloud-based testing platforms (e.g. Sauce Labs, BrowserStack, etc.)**Benefits/Compensation**:- Fully Remote Position- Contract-based employment- Starting at $4,000 - $5,500 depending on qualifications and experience- There are currently NO formal benefits packages available (health insurance, retirement plans).- Paid Vacation Time and Sick Days.- Fixed working hours 9am-5pm EST time.
