We operate in the following regions of the world: Afghanistan and Pakistan, Africa (all of Africa), Asia, Europe and Eurasia, Latin America and the Caribbean and the Middle East.Summary:The USAID Office in Mission in Mexico is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for a USAID Dev Outreach and Communications Specialist position.The work schedule for this position is: Full Time (40 hours per week)- Please note: salary announced is an annual base salary.Supervisory Position:NoRelocation Expenses Reimbursed:NoTravel Required:Not Required**Duties**:The Development Outreach and Communications (DOC) Specialist is responsible for producing and disseminating public information about Mission activities for local, regional, and U.S. consumption with the purpose of promoting a better understanding of USAID/Mexico activities. In this capacity, the incumbent is responsible for developing, implementing, and administering communications to advance U.S. foreign policy. DOC represents USAID while collaborating closely with the Embassy’s counterparts and implementing partners (IPs) on the joint communications efforts. The DOC additionally serves as a principal liaison with the USAID/Washington Bureau of Legislative and Public Affairs.The position supervises a DOC Assistant and periodic long-and short-term technical support staff. The DOC Specialist, as a designated Contracting Officer Representative, manages contracts and contractors supporting DOC office activities to include the preparation of outreach materials in Spanish and English (e.g., speeches, press releases, fact sheets, presentations, etc.), photography, video production, infographics, web page design and maintenance, and event planning.The Mission portfolio includes a broad range of projects, including crime and violence prevention, rule of law, human rights, transparency and integrity, and climate change. The DOC supports the Mission in the achievement of its objectives by producing and disseminating public information about Mission programs, projects, and activities throughout Mexico. S/he also promotes a better understanding of USAID programs and approaches for the interagency and American and Mexican publics. The position holder drives strategic communication policies, advising Mission Front Office and technical teams on matters related to public relations as well as partner engagement with beneficiaries and GOM counterparts. The DOC is also responsible for collecting, investigating, managing, and distributing information associated with USAID foreign assistance and serves as the primary communications point of contact at USAID/Mexico.- **- ****Qualifications and Evaluations**:- Requirements:**Physical Demands**: The work requested does not involve undue physical demands.- Education Requirements:**Education**:Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, public relations, communications, English, or a related field is required.- Evaluations:- Qualifications:**Prior Work Experience**: A minimum of five years of progressively responsible professional-level experience in communications, public relations, or journalism is required. This experience will provide assurance that the DOC Specialist is skilled in disseminating information to a variety of target audiences. Experience preparing speeches and other written communications products in English and Spanish.The DOC Specialist must have strong interpersonal skills. The ability to establish and maintain collegial relations with press and media contacts, as well as Embassy and IP counterparts, and to exercise sound judgment in representing the USG, along with the ability to manage interactions with high-level dignitaries and officials with maturity and confidence, is required. The position holder must also have strong computer skills, including the ability to use Google platforms, Microsoft PowerPoint and Word, as well as have a basic knowledge of the Adobe Creative Suite software.
