Sensata is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their team.General Responsibilities:- Assist in new product design development and design upgrades to existing products- Perform engineering tests (electrical, mechanical, and product evaluation studies)- Pre-test checklist procedure, Daily monitoring, Post-test tear-down procedure- Acquire, analyze, and document data.- Must be able interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations for future improvements. For example, plotting data and looking for anomalies.- Knowledge of Data Acquisition Systems- The ability to perform device failure analysis if needed- Ability to read prints. Knowledge of GD&T is a plus- Knowledge of measurement methods, such as CMM.- Perform studies to validate internal measurement systems (Gage R&R, MSA)- Must have working knowledge of basic statistics (mean, sigma, Cp, Cpk, etc.)- Design and Develop fixtures- Machining skills based on 2D prints or 3D models. Experience on CNC machines highly desired.- Support and oversee the build of prototype samples, including developing work instructions, guiding operators, collecting and evaluating in-process data, and making final judgments on product quality prior to shipment to customer.- Verify compliance of incoming prototype material prior to assembly builds- Run tests to validate that specifications are met- Conduct designed experiments to understand process variables- Experience with welding, electrical testing, calibration, optical assembly, soldering, dispensing, and automated assembly equipment is preferred- Make recommendations to improve manufacture of new and existing products- Required:- Associate’s degree in a technical field is required- Strong verbal communication skills- Willingness to assist others and, when needed, to request assistance from others.
