You know your accounting principles and the full accounting process end to end. You'll advise on financial reports required by governmental regulations, and review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports. You move fast while keeping your attention to detail, and you tap into your problem-solving skills to support business objectives.The Google Fixed Assets (gFA) team manages the global accounting for Google’s entire Cap Ex portfolio, manufacturing operations and related expenses. This infrastructure is at the foundation of Google - the global data centers, networks, and integrating hardware and software that powers both our unique customer products and services and our internal operations. As a member of this team, you'll find innovative ways to manage our complex set of transactions. As Operations Controller you will be focused on running highly effective and efficient processes for asset setup, modifications and retirements, as well as month end close reporting and reconciliation processes related to Property, Plant or Equipment (PP&E) accounts.The name Google came from "googol," a mathematical term for the number 1 followed by 100 zeros. And nobody at Google loves big numbers like the Finance team when providing in depth analysis on all manner of strategic decisions across Google products. From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.**Responsibilities**:- Perform month end close tasks related to PP&E area (e.g., FA ledger close, capex accruals, etc.). This includes but is not limited to manage asset creation and retirement processes, provide commentary for flux analysis on a monthly and quarterly basis, book journal entries for your related process, partner with businesses for new process/product implementations.- Prepare and present financial information to different audiences, including finance leaders, business partners, auditors, and regional accountants.- Find efficiencies in the processes through elimination, automation, and sourcing.- Support SOX controls for PP&E processes and run processes according to risk assessment and control frameworks. Escalate when risks are detected.- Work towards constant improvements of gFA processes to drive higher quality standards in the fixed assets register, reconciliations, and reporting produced for local audits and close reporting.Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer.
