Zillow’s mission is to help more people get home - connecting home shoppers with real estate professionals to find their next home with speed, certainty, and ease. Zillow’s Data Platform enables this mission by creating tools, services, and processes that make it easy to generate and distribute data throughout the enterprise. The team is responsible for the management of data end-to-end, including problems such as event creation, governance, and discovery.
We’re looking for a highly technical, developer-focused product manager with a Platform as a Product mentality to help set the direction of our Data Platform tools, services, and strategy. This role is an excellent opportunity to drive significant impact for someone who has worked in a product role with developers as a direct customer or has an engineering background and wants to transition into a formal product management role.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage deployment, evolution, and developer support plans for platform offerings.
- Identify what truly matters and find ways to deliver value quickly by building a deep understanding of our customers through surveys, product analytics, and shadowing customers.
- Champion our new app APIs, tools & services, and the value they offer, with engineering teams across Zillow Group.
- Drive scalability of build system and CI/CD pipeline, documentation, and automated release process.
Who You Are:
- 5+ years in a product or program management role.
- Deeply Technical with experience in CI/CD (pipeline layouts, package/artifact management, cloud compute infrastructure, security, and IAM).
- Comfortable writing technical specifications as needed.
- Platform as a Product approach, understanding developers as primary customers.
- Highly Analytical, using data to make decisions.
- Product Owner capable of taking ideas, defining products, and shipping features.
- Outcome-Oriented, able to identify core problems and work with the development team to get solutions shipped.
