Cloud Architect

Job: Cloud Architect GCP & GKE (Fully Remote) Req ID: Location: Remote, Mexico, México (MX-MEX). Overview NTT DATA Services seeks a Cloud Architect (GCP) to join our team in Mexico. The role focuses on designing, implementing and optimizing GCP solutions, leading cloud transformation programs, and driving adoption of cloud technology. Primary Skill Cloud Infrastructure – Google Cloud Platform Experience Minimum work experience: 8+ years (Total Experience: 8+ Years) Certifications Required GCP Solution Architect Certification (mandatory) GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) – certification optional (CKA/CKAD) Mandatory Skills Assessment, design & implementation of GCP solutions (compute, network, storage, identity, security, DR, migration, cost optimization, PowerShell, Terraform, Ansible). Experience executing large complex cloud transformation programs (discovery, assessment, business case, design, build, migration planning & execution). Use of native or industry‑leading discovery, assessment, and migration tools. Strong knowledge of GCP technologies (Anthos, Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud Storage, VPC, Cloud DNS, Cloud Interconnect, Cloud VPN, Cloud Armor, IAM, KMS, Billing, Stackdriver, SQL, Spanner, Bigtable, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions). Solid understanding of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS architecture and design patterns. Design of production, staging, QA and development cloud infrastructures in 24×7 environments. Delivery of customer cloud strategies aligned with business objectives. Ensuring security and compliance controls, including data sovereignty. Creation of cloud platform architecture documents and collaboration with application architects and DevOps. Modernization of IaaS to PaaS and support for a DevOps approach. Proof of concept development, enterprise‑level conceptual solutions, and consensus building. Knowledge of other architecture disciplines (application, database, infrastructure, enterprise architecture). Implementation of best practices, tools, and standards. Consultative support to DevOps for production incidents and system reliability. Advocacy for cloud automation and standards. Configuration management with Chef, Puppet or Ansible. Automation skills using CLI scripting (bash, perl, python, ruby, etc.). Robust design to meet customer business requirements with scalability, availability, performance and cost‑effectiveness. Requirements gathering to define architectural solutions for GCP. High‑level and low‑level design for GCP platforms, including data center design if necessary. Operations & deployment guidance throughout project lifecycle. Monitoring metrics, threshold values, corrective measures. Automation to reduce incidents. Knowledge of cloud center operations, monitoring tools, backup solutions. GKE Specific Responsibilities Set up monitoring and logging for cluster troubleshooting. Manage Kubernetes objects. Use declarative and imperative paradigms for Kubernetes API. Manage secrets and confidential settings. Configure load balancing, port forwarding, firewall or DNS for cluster access. Configure cluster networking. Hands‑on Terraform: reusable modules. Hands‑on Python and Unix shell scripting. Understand CI/CD pipelines in a global environment (Git, Artifactory, Jenkins, Docker registry). Experience with GCP services and cloud functions. Deploy and manage Kubernetes infrastructure with Terraform Enterprise. CKA or CKAD certification is a plus. Experience with Docker on GKE. Knowledge of Splunk setup. Knowledge of Spark on GKE. Process / Quality Knowledge Clear knowledge on ITIL‑based service delivery. ITIL certification desired. Knowledge of security processes. Soft Skills Excellent communication skills. Technical leadership to drive solutions. Orientation to quality, cost and time of deliverables. Timely and accurate communication. Ownership of technical issues and stakeholder engagement. Flexibility to learn other technologies (public cloud, private cloud, automation). Reporting skills. Willing to work across time zones. Team player and self‑motivated.
