About the role

The Collection Salvage Supervisor is responsible for defining the strategies and monitoring their execution to achieve the targets of recoveries in the Collections area.

Some activities on charge of this position are (i) the administration of the external attorneys that supports the collections efforts of the GMF salvage portfolio, (ii) the adequate allocation of accounts after the charge-off in the several collection channels available, based on recovery levels.

iii) the follow up of recovery amounts from repo and auctions processes, (iv) the definition of campaigns and specific strategies supported by the systems in place to improve the recovery in the different segments of the salvage portfolio.

The daily activities performed by the supervisor includes : KPIs follow up (Net Losses, Recovery, Vendor Expenses, Accounts allocations, Repos process, , assuring the compliance of the current policies, procedures and Business standards.

What you need

  • Bachelor s Degree in Administration, Business, or related fields. Master’s degree in administration or post- graduate studies are a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Collections, Credit or related areas.
  • High level of experience managing and dealing with external vendors.
  • Desired financial / banking background.
  • Proficient English Skills, both verbal & written
  • Strong influencing and negotiations skills
  • First class communication skills at all levels, including active listening.
  • Analytical skills to assess performance of the operations, ability to minimize risk and solve problems.
  • Ability to quickly find common ground and solve problems, including deal with ambiguity.
  • Ability to embrace change and to adapt to organizational challenges.
  • Teamwork and collaboration.
  • Organizational and time management skills.

What you will be doing

  • Execute the Salvage portfolio collection processes, which includes full control of all stages from the allocation of accounts to legal agencies to the closing of the accounts.
  • Ensure, based on close follow up, the maximum level of recoveries of the salvage portfolio through the definition of fees, incentives, campaigns, segmentations, etc
  • Assure adequate management of outsourced service providers, including lawyer’s agencies, outside collection agencies, etc.
  • Manage staff : Active participation leading the team members, providing training, creating work schedules and maximizing their capabilities, guiding them to achieve and exceed the objectives of the area.
  • Ensure ongoing adherence to all relevant compliance regulations & internal controls and guidelines (Policies and BPMS processes) that may govern the business.
