Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Email Retention Manager to join our roster of specialists and support our clients’ lifecycle marketing needs. The Email Retention Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing email marketing programs for U.S. ecommerce and DTC brands. This is a client-facing role requiring exceptional English communication skills, deep email marketing expertise, and the ability to confidently manage strategy, execution, reporting, and day-to-day communication. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Klaviyo, understands deliverability fundamentals, and can design and optimize lifecycle journeys that drive growth and retention. As part of Entropy’s near-shore team, you will collaborate closely with U.S. clients while operating as a contractor under the RESICO tax scheme in Mexico. Key ResponsibilitiesEmail Strategy & Execution Develop, manage, and optimize retention strategies for ecommerce brands using email and SMS. Own the full lifecycle of email programs, including campaign planning, segmentation, automation flows, testing, and scheduling. Build and refine automated journeys such as welcome series, post-purchase flows, abandoned cart, win-back, replenishment, and seasonal campaigns. Analyze performance and provide actionable insights to increase engagement, conversions, and customer lifetime value. Platform & Technical Expertise Build and manage programs primarily in  Klaviyo ; experience with other platforms (e.g., HubSpot, Mailchimp, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Iterable) is a plus. Monitor and maintain deliverability health: list hygiene, sender reputation, segmentation strategies, and compliance (CAN-SPAM, GDPR awareness). Support platform migrations, list imports, template rebuilding, and  IP warming processes when required. Client Management Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned accounts, providing proactive communication, reporting, and strategic recommendations. Present performance highlights, testing roadmaps, and insights to clients with clarity and confidence. Build strong client relationships based on trust, expertise, and responsiveness. Analytics & Reporting Track and interpret key email performance metrics (open rate, click-through rate, revenue attribution, AOV, deliverability indicators, etc.). Prepare recurring performance reports and communicate results and optimizations to clients. Implement A/B testing frameworks to improve creative, segmentation, and sending strategies. RequirementsTechnical & Experience Requirements 3+ years of hands-on email marketing experience , ideally with ecommerce or DTC brands. Expert-level Klaviyo experience (segmentation, flows, dynamic content, reporting, integrations). Strong understanding of email deliverability, list hygiene, sender reputation, and inbox placement fundamentals. Experience with email platform migrations and IP warming best practices (a strong plus). Familiarity with SMS marketing best practices is preferred. Communication Skills C2 English , or strong  C1 with exceptional fluency and confidence (client-facing role). Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders. Professional presentation and meeting facilitation skills. Working Style Strong sense of ownership, attention to detail, and reliability. Ability to manage multiple clients, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously. Comfortable working independently as part of a distributed near-shore team. Contracting Requirements Must be legally able to work as a  contractor in Mexico . Must be able to  invoice under the RESICO tax regime . Stable home-office setup with strong internet connection. Preferred Qualifications Experience in ecommerce, DTC, or subscription brands. Familiarity with Shopify or similar ecommerce platforms. Basic understanding of HTML/CSS for email template adjustments.
