The Role: This is a leadership role with the following responsibilities. This role will report to CEO. This role will work closely with CEO and COO and hence will benefit from significant mentoring by the CEO and COO. This person is expected to take on a business ownership role after successfully completing 1.5-2 years.

1. The first responsibility is working with the CEO and leadership team on corporate level strategy projects, such as market entry to other countries or annual / quarterly planning. The work often mirrors the work found at top strategy consulting firms, but with an emphasis on getting to impact in close collaboration with leaders of other areas at Stori. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Leading projects from inception to implementation and/or handover to operators in the business
  • Developing work plans to go from a high-level strategy idea to actionable steps
  • Facilitating Monthly Business Reviews (MBRs) and following up on decision implementation and impact with each department/team
  • Working with CEO, COO, and leadership team to prepare and facilitate annual / quarterly planning

2. The second responsibility is leading important special projects on an ad hoc basis (meaning when the need arises). This could be acquisitions to deliver corporate growth strategy. Sometimes a significant opportunity or challenge arises where we need this role to dive in to scope out the opportunity and rapidly progress it to a stage where another leader can carry it forward. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Support Stori’s growth strategy through identification, assessment and execution of potential acquisitions, investments and joint ventures 
  • Establish and lead a robust and comprehensive process to identify and evaluate potential opportunities

What we are looking for

  • Experience
  • Total of 6+ years of experience
  • 3+ years of consulting experience with a top-tier strategy consulting firm, or experience in a respected operating company’s strategy function
  • New product launch or new country entry project experience in a consumer oriented business
  • Bonus point: 1+ years of experience in merger & acquisitions type of Corporate Development work, especially in opportunity sizing and commercial due diligence 
  • This experience could take place in a consulting firm, investment bank, or Corporate Develop / M&A department of top firms
  • Bonus point: 1+ years of operating company experience (ideally startup), ideally in financial service industry covering consumer financial products, particularly credit card, loans, deposits

  • Have superior communications (written/verbal), presentation and facilitation skills. The ability to quickly synthesize information, structure a concise, clear presentation of findings, and prioritize issues as appropriate is a must
  • Required language: Spanish, English
  • Bonus points (desired but not required): 
  • MBA or relevant graduate degree from top-tier institution or similar academic / professional experience
