Tax & Accounting Specialist
Bumble Bee Foods, headquartered in San Diego, is the leading canned seafood company in North America. We market tuna, salmon, sardines, and specialty proteins under iconic brands such as Bumble Bee®, Brunswick®, Snow’s®, Wild Selections®, Beach Cliff®, and Clover Leaf® in Canada.
We are currently in a phase of expansion and the launch of operations in Mexico, strengthening our global footprint and production capacity.

We are seeking a Tax & Accounting Specialist to ensure tax compliance in Mexico and provide comprehensive support in general accounting. This role will play a key part in both tax and standard accounting processes, working closely with Finance, Legal, Human Resources, and external advisors.

This position will play a fundamental role in building and strengthening the tax and accounting function in Mexico as the operation continues to scale.

Tax / Fiscal Compliance
Ensure tax compliance in Mexico (Corporate Income Tax, VAT, Payroll Tax, and local contributions).
Preparation and filing of monthly and annual tax returns.
Calculation and control of taxes, withholdings, and statutory contributions.
Handling and follow-up of SAT audits, inspections, and official requests.
Coordination with external tax advisors and accounting firms.
Support in tax structuring and analysis of tax impacts.
General Accounting / Finance
Recording and review of accounting journal entries.
Bank reconciliations and balance sheet account reconciliations.
Analysis of accounts and accounting variances.
Compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
Support in billing, accounts receivable, and accounts payable processes (as required by the business).

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
~5–8+ years of experience in corporate taxation in Mexico and general accounting.
~ Strong knowledge of Mexican tax regulations.
~ Experience with financial closings and account reconciliations.
~ Advanced Excel skills.
~ Advanced English.
~ Experience working with SAP Business One (B1) and/or SAP S/4HANA (desirable).
~ The opportunity to build and scale the tax and accounting function in Mexico from the ground up within a global company undergoing rapid expansion.
A high-impact role with strong visibility to both local leadership and corporate HQ (San Diego).
Participation in strategic projects such as the implementation and stabilization of SAP B1 / SAP S/4HANA, tax structuring, and process professionalization.
