Senior Technology Program / Project ManagerTechnology Delivery | Governance & Risk | Global Stakeholder Leadership Position Overview This role is responsible for leading high-budget, multi-phase technology programs and large-scale projects with multi-function and multi-region impacts through the full project lifecycle. The Program/Project Manager partners with business, architecture, and engineering stakeholders to align scope, roadmap, and delivery plans; manage dependencies and risks; and provide clear executive reporting to ensure strategic objectives are achieved. The role operates within governance, compliance, and risk frameworks typical of regulated industries (e.g., insurance/reinsurance). What Success Looks Like Complex programs are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality targets, with transparent control of scope, issues, and risks. Stakeholders across business, enterprise architecture, and engineering are aligned on priorities, decisions, and delivery trade-offs. Interdependencies across concurrent initiatives are identified early and managed proactively to avoid delivery conflicts. Governance requirements (controls, compliance reviews, risk assessments, audit readiness) are embedded into delivery plans. Globally distributed teams operate with clear roles, decision paths, and predictable cadence across time zones.
Key Responsibilities
Manage large and/or complex technology programs and projects through the full lifecycle, including development of charters, plans, schedules, and budgets. Allocate and coordinate resources; monitor performance against schedule, budget, and quality targets; and implement corrective actions when needed. Manage changes, issues, and risks; maintain RAID logs; and drive timely decision-making and escalation paths. Establish and maintain effective communication with cross-functional project teams, internal/external customers, and other project managers to align key tasks and due dates. Partner with peer PMs and program leadership to manage program interdependencies, roadmaps, and integrated delivery plans. Provide clear, executive-level status reporting, including progress, financials, risks, decisions required, and forecast-to-complete. Support feasibility studies and perform cost/benefit analysis to guide prioritization and investment decisions. Ensure business partners' expectations are met; communicate constraints when desired outcomes are not feasible; and propose alternative solutions to meet objectives. Provide guidance on the delivery toolset and practices used to plan, build, test, and troubleshoot technology solutions; direct and coordinate technical resources accordingly. Establish and maintain best practices and consistent project management policies and guidelines aligned with IT project management methodologies and PMO standards. Foster a positive and engaged work environment; mentor associates and provide guidance on professional development. Must-Have Qualifications 10+ years of experience in project management, including hands-on delivery of complex, technical initiatives. Deep experience running complex, multi-phase technology programs (planning through execution and closure). Excellent communication skills for aligning business, enterprise architecture, and engineering stakeholders. Strong stakeholder management and facilitation abilities in matrixed, global environments. Ability to operate within governance, compliance, and risk frameworks typical of regulated industries. Demonstrated leadership behaviors: accountability, collaboration, strategic thinking, and clarity. Broad technical awareness (cloud, integration, data, security, and engineering practices) to manage risks and dependencies. Nice-to-Have Strong understanding of enterprise architecture concepts and frameworks. Experience driving modernization initiatives involving both legacy and emerging technologies. Experience coordinating globally distributed teams across regions and time zones. Ability to translate architectural guidance into actionable delivery plans. Experience with Aha, Azure DevOps (ADO), Confluence, and Planisware. Experience with Project Management Office (PMO) delivery models. Insurance/reinsurance domain experience (5+ years preferred). Education and Certifications Required Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience. Preferred PMP, CSM, or other relevant professional designation. Prosci certification in Organizational Change Management (OCM). Six Sigma or other process improvement training. Core Skills Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Project, Excel). Advanced ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and/or teams simultaneously in accordance with goals. Keen understanding of project dependencies and program interdependencies. Advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and coordinate the activities of a team. Highly advanced ability to translate business needs into viable, accepted solutions; ability to conceptualize and design multiple options. Highly advanced persuasion and negotiation skills when working with internal and external customers. Flexibility to adapt quickly to new methods and work under tight deadlines; demonstrates initiative and accountability. Working Style and Collaboration Comfortable operating in a matrixed organization with multiple reporting lines and shared resources. Strong facilitation skills for workshops, steering committees, architecture reviews, and delivery ceremonies. Able to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences, translating complexity into clear decisions and actions. Focus on continuous improvement, standardization, and repeatable delivery practices. Equal Opportunity Statement All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age, race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or status as a protected veteran.
