Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Purpose of Position.

• The Industrial Technician is responsible for optimizing the use of human, technical and informational resources in order to achieve efficient manufacturing processes and to be able to provide solutions to increase the productivity of the company. Ease of data analysis and participation in continuous improvement projects.

Responsibilities

• Data analysis for optimization of routings and standard cost.
• Times and movents analysis.
• Implement cost models for the annual cost roll.
• Support part number extensions and new derivative part number introduction in SAP.
• Updated usages, fixed waste, scrap percentages in Windchill
• Able to use principles of calculation and advanced mathematics in the analysis, design and resolution of problems.
• Participate in continues improvements projects.
• Support to the Manufacturing Engineers and Accounting department.

Knowledge and Skill Requirements.

Education.

• Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field or equivalent                                                        

Work Experience.

• 1 - 2 years of manufacturing experience or equivalent.

Additional Skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic business/manufacturing environment.
• Master PC skills using software packages (Project, Power Point, Excel, Word).   
• Knowledge of SAP (inventories, consumption, BOM’s, routings, etc)           
• Good presentation and leadership skills.
• Lean Manufacturing Course
• Self-motivated individual
